Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem emphasizes “everything is a plugin,” but intuitive web interface tools for session persistence and sidebar management are often lacking. Users frequently need to organize archived sessions, filter specific workspaces, or clean up the recycle bin, and manual operations can easily lead to residual data or omissions. This plugin aims to provide the DSH Web client with a complete session management solution, addressing archive browsing, workspace filtering, recycle bin maintenance, and cleanup of stale records.

What It Is

The OhaWhale Session Manager plugin is a web plugin dedicated to DeepSeek Harness. It is an open-source project under the MIT license. It provides features for viewing archived sessions, managing the recycle bin, filtering by workspace, and cleaning up stale records. By cleaning up three layers of bookkeeping (archive set, workspace bookkeeping, and projection checkpoints), it keeps sidebar data clean and consistent.

Installation and Enablement

In the directory where the DSH Web plugin environment has been configured, run the following command to install:

dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-session-manager

Core Features

The plugin mainly includes the following feature modules:

  • Session browsing and management: View the list of archived sessions, with support for previewing the last question-and-answer pair. Support restoring archived sessions to the sidebar.
  • View filtering: Automatically detect workspaces registered in DSH, supporting filtering by workspace; support time-based filtering (last day / last seven days / earlier).
  • Data refresh: Provide a pull action or button for manual refresh; after the initial load, it does not automatically overwrite old data.
  • Recycle bin operations: Support moving individual or bulk sessions to the recycle bin; support restoring individual or bulk sessions from the recycle bin; support permanently deleting individual or bulk sessions; support one-click emptying of the recycle bin.
  • Maintenance tools: Clean up stale records by scanning for and removing orphaned sessions as well as invalid archive IDs, workspace bookkeeping, and projection caches.

Usage Flow and Semantics

  • Deletion flow: Deletion operations move data to the recycle bin by default. After emptying the recycle bin, data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • Cleaning up stale records: This is a fallback maintenance function. It scans for orphaned child sessions whose ancestors no longer exist (moved to the recycle bin and recoverable), as well as stale bookkeeping data that can no longer be resolved to sessions. Even if a session was deleted via a path outside the plugin, this function can clear the residual data.

Technical Details and Routing

The plugin exposes management interfaces through HTTP routes:

GET /session-manager/archives # 查看归档会话
GET /session-manager/workspaces # 查看工作区列表
GET /session-manager/trash # 查看回收站列表
POST /session-manager/trash # 移动到回收站 (Body: { ids: string[] })
POST /session-manager/unarchive # 取消归档 (Body: { ids: string[] })
POST /session-manager/restore # 恢复回收站会话 (Body: { ids: string[] })
POST /session-manager/purge # 彻底删除 (Body: { ids?: string[] })
POST /session-manager/cleanup # 清理失效记录

In deletion logic, the plugin moves child agent sessions (parentSession lineage) to the recycle bin together, preventing child session logs from remaining on disk. Deletion also cleans up three layers of bookkeeping: the archive set, session bookkeeping for each workspace, and persisted projection checkpoints. Residual data in any layer can cause deleted sessions to reappear in the sidebar.

Notes

  • Currently open sessions cannot be deleted.
  • The plugin does not modify session log content.
  • Deletion moves child agent sessions to the recycle bin as well.
  • Cleaning up stale records removes orphaned sessions, but restoration is allowed.
