Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) for long conversations or complex task orchestration, follow-up interactions usually require manually copying the text of the previous reply, or switching to another model in the model menu and regenerating the response. The dsh-followup-suggestions plugin directly renders 1–3 suggestion chips below the last completed response in the conversation. Clicking a chip fills the input box and focuses the cursor, without sending a message.
Plugin Scope¶
This is a DSH plugin maintained by YubaiLoving. It reads the model currently selected for the session and displays suggestion chips below the last response in the session timeline. The generation process is executed by the Host, rendering is handled by the Client, and results are cached in browser local storage.
Core Features¶
- Automatic chip rendering: Displays 1–3 suggestion chips below the last closed response in the session.
- Model-aware generation: Uses the model selected by that session itself to generate suggestions, and updates when the model changes.
- Click-to-fill: Clicking a chip only fills the input box and focuses the cursor; it does not send a message.
- Refresh mechanism: Clicking the refresh icon requests a new batch of suggestions from the Host, ignoring the cache.
- Persistent caching: Results are cached in
localStorage, so refreshing the page or switching tabs does not require a new request. - Silent failure: If a network error occurs, the model fails, or an empty answer is returned, the result is not cached and no error is shown.
- No contamination: The generation process does not write to the Session log and does not affect the KV cache.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin requires DSH version >= 0.1.7-rc.2.
Install it using the official plugin manager:
plugin_manager install_bundle target="github:YubaiLoving/dsh-followup-suggestions"
After installation, the Host code must be restarted to load the new module, and the Client code requires a page refresh.
Configuration Options (Optional)¶
Edit ~/.dsh/profiles/desktop/cordis.patch.yml and add a config block under the plugin entry (optional):
- id: followup-suggestions
name: 'dsh-followup-suggestions'
config:
After configuration changes, the plugin reloads automatically; no DSH restart is required.
Usage Example¶
Below the last response in a session, you will see suggestion labels:
assistant: The Luding Bridge assault happened in May 1935 …
Suggested ↻
┌──────────────────────────────┐ ┌──────────────────────────┐
│ Walk me through the assault │ │ What is still debated? │
└──────────────────────────────┘ └──────────────────────────┘
Clicking “Walk me through the assault” fills the text into the input box.
Notes¶
- Closed sessions only: Suggestion chips are displayed only at the latest response in the session timeline (
status === "closed"and the latest entry). They are not shown when scrolling through history. - Source code and license: This plugin is an open-source project (MIT license). Please review the source code and license before installation.
- Installation troubleshooting: If the plugin disappears, check whether
pnpm installwas interrupted, which may prevent dependencies from being linked correctly.
