In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem, the sidebar typically hosts toolbars or debugging panels. For novel-writing scenarios, developers need an interface that enables immersive reading and allows text to be edited with AI assistance. The dsh-novel-studio plugin restructures the right sidebar in DSH into a novel reader, while also providing tools for AI to operate on novel text.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by Voyage-He and is designed to address the problem in AI-assisted writing where the result is hard to see after writing and hard to find after editing. It runs on the Web platform and transforms the original conversation and tools interface into a novel-writing workspace with version history and manual editing support.

Core Features

  1. Sidebar as Reader: Converts the right sidebar in DSH into a novel reader and supports manual editing during reading.
  2. AI Tool Support: Provides tools for AI to operate on novel text, including modifying the main text, adjusting the outline, editing character settings, and managing the knowledge base.
  3. Version Control: Supports recoverable version history, allowing users to trace back to or restore a specific state during the creation process.
  4. Flexible Workflow: Does not enforce a fixed creation flow. Users and AI can freely decide whether to write the main text first, organize the outline first, or adjust characters and settings at any time.

Installation and Activation

To install and enable the plugin, use the web profile and interact with AI in the conversation pane. Novel content can be modified through tools, and the results will be displayed directly in the right-side reader.

Dependencies and Requirements

The plugin depends on the following environment or libraries:
* Node.js: Version must be greater than or equal to 22.19.
* Core dependency: @deepseek-ai/schemastery.
* Optional dependency: React (version must be greater than or equal to 18).

Notes

  • Permissions and Security: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
  • Platform Limitation: Currently, only the Web platform is supported.
