Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) desktop client uses a plugin-based architecture, but the official “Plugins” panel only manages plugins and does not actively discover them. Most existing community plugin markets bypass the official installation pipeline and handle dependencies and builds on their own. dsh-compat-market focuses on bridging the gap between plugin discovery and the official pipeline: it provides a sidebar interface for browsing official and community plugins, presents compatibility conclusions before installation, injects community metadata into the native plugin detail page, and finally delegates installation to the official pluginManager.
Core Features¶
dsh-compat-market provides the following capabilities:
- Community plugin discovery: Aggregates the npm registry and GitHub Topics to list installable DSH plugins.
- Compatibility pre-check: Provides compatibility conclusions before installation to avoid version conflict errors after installation.
- Official pipeline installation: Does not build its own installation pipeline; all install, enable, and uninstall operations are delegated to
pluginManager. - Native detail page injection: Displays community plugin information inside the native DSH plugin detail page.
- Official and community plugins side by side: The sidebar presents official and community packages together for easier comparison.
Installation and Activation¶
Installation follows the official registry fallback and build script authorization flow. Add it from the DSH “Plugins” panel, or directly use the plugin_manager tool:
plugin_manager { action: "install_bundle", target: "dsh-compat-market" }
After installation, it takes effect immediately, without a restart. To install from a local directory (for development and debugging), you can pass an absolute path:
plugin_manager { action: "install_bundle", target: "D:\\path\\to\\dsh-compat-market" }
Configuration and Notes¶
Source Management¶
In the sidebar, go to “Plugin Market” → “Settings” in the top-right corner → adjust the “Source switches”. Switching them to “Off” stops incremental GitHub Topic scanning; at that time the plugin will not send any requests.
Hot Reload¶
After installation, the plugin browser half (lib/client.js) takes effect immediately through HMR hot replacement. However, the host half (lib/index.js) does not support hot reloading; after code changes, DSH must be restarted for the changes to take effect.
Windows and pnpm¶
On Windows, pnpm-created node_modules links use absolute paths. Therefore, do not move or rename the local checkout directory, otherwise the links may become dangling and cause module loading failures.
GitHub Source and Token¶
Conclusions for entries from the GitHub source are temporary and are not version-pinned. Enabling a GitHub Token significantly improves scanning speed (increased quota), but it consumes that token’s quota. Uninstalling the plugin does not revoke the already consumed quota. The plugin does not introduce credentials by default; after a token is enabled, the token will be sent to GitHub.
Summary¶
dsh-compat-market is a plugin market plugin built for the DeepSeek Harness desktop client. It does not replace the official plugin manager; instead, it fills the gap between plugin discovery and the official installation pipeline. Through compatibility pre-checks and a unified sidebar, it makes community plugin integration safer and more controllable.
