Introduction¶
In agent development scenarios such as DeepSeek Harness (DSH) or Claude Code, injecting domain-specific tool capabilities into a model (such as financial data querying or deep research) usually requires modifying agent code or manually configuring MCP services. sensedeal/cue-skills provides an open-source agent skill pack in which skills exist as self-contained instruction packs, allowing agents to load them directly and gain new capabilities without modifying the agent itself.
What It Is¶
This is a set of open-source agent skills maintained by sensedeal, including instruction packs and DSH plugin packs. Skills are “portable instruction packs” that any AI agent (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, etc.) can load to gain new capabilities.
Core Features¶
The repository contains the following main skill modules:
- cue-buddy: Allows business experts to author, validate, test, and save Cue research templates through natural conversation, without requiring Python or API knowledge.
- cue-research: Enables agents to use Cue’s capabilities and supports stylistic imitation/mimicry writing.
- cue-omni-reader: Helps external agents parse HTTP(S) URLs, authorized local documents, audio, or video through official MCP tools.
- cue-data-mcp: Allows agents to query Cue’s public MCP data services (regulatory, macro, disclosure, market data, etc.) and dynamically discover active domains.
- playbook: Provides agent-loadable skills for Cue playbook scenarios (such as equity research and credit due diligence) and can query active buddies in real time.
Installation and Enablement¶
Basic Skills Installation¶
Use the skills CLI to install the default skill list or a specific skill:
npx skills add sensedeal/cue-skills # Default installation: cue-buddy, cue-research, cue-omni-reader, cue-data-mcp
npx skills add sensedeal/cue-skills --skill cue-research # Install cue-research only
DeepSeek Harness Plugin Installation¶
If you are using DeepSeek Harness, you can install Cue’s deep research tools through DSH plugins. Note that the DSH root package does not include SSRF protection and needs to be added separately.
dsh plugin --profile web add @cueai/dsh-omni-reader # Omni Reader parse/read tools
dsh plugin --profile web add @cueai/dsh-omni-reader-guard # Optional SSRF/consent protection
dsh plugin --profile web add @cueai/dsh-cue-data-mcp # Cue public data MCP (15 domains / ~104 tools)
DSH Root Package Installation¶
The repository root itself is a DSH plugin package and can be installed directly to inject the full Cue surface (Omni Reader MCP server + Cue public data domains) into the configuration file:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:sensedeal/cue-skills#<commit>
Typical Usage¶
After installation, the model can see the mcp__omni__* and mcp__cue_* tool families. An API key must be configured in environment variables to enable access:
export CUE_API_KEY=your_api_key
# Optional: export OMNI_ALLOWED_ROOTS=...
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Applicable scenarios: Agent development requiring integration of financial/regulatory data querying capabilities; scenarios requiring deep research report generation.
- Permission note:
cue-data-mcpdynamically discovers active domains, and the plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Please verify the source code and license (MIT) before installation. - Security note: The DSH root package does not include SSRF protection. Install
dsh-omni-reader-guardto prevent server-side request forgery.
Summary¶
sensedeal/cue-skills provides agent developers with a standardized capability injection solution. Through instruction packs and DSH plugins, you can quickly enable financial data querying and deep research capabilities in DeepSeek Harness or Claude Code.
