DeepSeek Harness provides an AI working environment, but its interface style often differs from the local operating system (macOS or Windows), which may affect immersion. The dsh-cyberwhale plugin achieves visual localization for both platforms, bringing the software’s settings interface closer to native system styles. It also provides settings for themes, wallpapers, and fonts, as well as an optional Blue Whale desktop pet.
The plugin is maintained by CyberWei922 and licensed under the MIT License. It primarily addresses visual consistency by providing theme, wallpaper, and font settings, along with an optional Blue Whale desktop pet.
Core Features¶
Dual-Platform UI Localization¶
The plugin automatically detects the client operating system and applies the corresponding settings interface style:
* macOS style: Simulates the system Settings interface with rounded grouped sections, a frosted sidebar, compact switches, and section-specific headers.
* Windows style: Simulates WinUI 3 interfaces, including a navigation indicator, settings cards, round switch sliders, and Mica-style layered background tones.
Themes and Color Schemes¶
- Theme options: Offers 27 light and dark theme options (10 light and 17 dark), covering popular palettes such as Catppuccin, Nord, and Tokyo Night.
- Custom colors: Adjust the accent, background, and text colors for light and dark modes separately, with interface colors derived automatically.
- Background settings: Supports solid color, gradient, or image backgrounds, with adjustable layout, overlay, and blur.
- Wallpaper color extraction: Supports extracting dominant colors from an uploaded wallpaper to generate matching light and dark schemes.
Fonts and Reading¶
- Font settings: Reads local fonts and lets you choose separate interface and code fonts.
- Reading settings: Supports frosted input fields or reduced transparency to improve contrast.
Blue Whale Desktop Pet¶
- Independent operation: Appearance enhancement and desktop pet features can be controlled separately.
- Interaction: Supports dragging, right-click greeting, and eye tracking of the mouse while idle.
- Status feedback: Changes animations as tasks switch and displays progress bubbles.

npm ci
npm run build:client
After installation, add a plugin in Harness that points to this directory.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Applicable scenarios: Developers and users who want the DeepSeek Harness interface to better match their system habits.
- Runtime environment: Verified with Harness Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2. On macOS 26+, desktop pet bubbles support the native Liquid Glass effect.
- Resource usage: The desktop pet feature requires an additional standalone Electron runtime (about 100–150 MB). If using only appearance enhancement, you can disable the desktop pet to save resources.
- Configuration storage: Theme configuration and wallpapers are stored locally. The macOS path is
~/.dsh/dsh-cyberwhale/, and the Windows path is%USERPROFILE%\.dsh\dsh-cyberwhale\.
By localizing the design, the plugin helps DeepSeek Harness blend better into the desktop environment and improves the user experience.
