Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture and manages various features through extension configuration files. The Model Context Protocol (MCP), as a protocol for connecting models with external tools, typically requires manual editing of YAML or JSON files. Modifying configuration files is error-prone and lacks visualized controls for enabling or disabling. The dsh-mcp-manager-plus plugin adds an “MCP Management” page to the left sidebar of the DSH settings interface, addressing the need to manage MCP servers directly in the browser.
What Is This¶
This is an MCP server management plugin maintained by appthin. It mainly addresses requirements such as viewing, enabling/disabling, editing, restarting, and deleting MCP servers in a DSH environment, avoiding direct manipulation of low-level configuration files.
Core Features¶
- List and expand: Lists all configured MCP servers on the settings page. Clicking a list item expands it to show all tools of that server currently registered with the model and their descriptions.
- Enable and disable: Implemented by writing a
disabledoverride line into the patch layer. Configuration changes take effect hot within about 1 second, without restarting DSH. - Edit: Supports two modes. One is form mode, for field-by-field modification; the other is JSON mode, prefilled with the current configuration, supporting full paste replacement.
- Restart and delete: Restart is used for recovery after a connection interruption; delete is used to remove a server from the configuration file.
- Add: Directly paste the MCP configuration of any mainstream tool; the plugin automatically recognizes the format, including Codex TOML format and JSON with comments.
- Multi-language: Supports Chinese and English, defaulting to the interface language.
Install and Enable¶
Before installation, please ensure the environment meets the requirements: DSH version between 0.1.6-alpha.1 and 0.3.0, and DSH depends on Node.js >= 24.2.0 and Git >= 2.31.0.
Run the following command to install into the web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-mcp-manager-plus
After installation, restart dsh or wait for hot reload, then go to “Settings → MCP Management” to see the new page.
Typical Usage¶
- Open dsh web, and go to Settings → MCP Management.
- Click the “Add” button, paste Codex’s
config.tomlor the JSON configuration of another tool; the plugin will automatically recognize and import it. - In the edit dialog, click the segmented control in the top-right corner to switch between “Form Mode” and “JSON Mode”.
- If you need to update or uninstall, you can run the following commands:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-mcp-manager-plus # 更新
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-mcp-manager-plus # 卸载
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- This plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process; please ensure it is from a trusted source.
- Credentials are masked when read and will not be displayed in the page.
- The built-in server is read-only and cannot be edited or deleted.
- After uninstalling the plugin, the MCP server configuration lines written by this plugin into the profile patch layer will remain unchanged and will not be deleted as well.
Summary¶
dsh-mcp-manager-plus provides a visualized interface, reducing the maintenance cost of MCP server configuration. It supports automatic recognition and editing of multiple configuration formats, meeting the need for full lifecycle management of MCP servers in a DSH environment.
