Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness to debug agents, conversations often branch into multiple paths, and reviewing the history one by one can easily break the context. dsh-chat-tree renders conversation branches as a clickable tree, solving this problem.

What Is This

  • Plugin name: dsh-chat-tree
  • One-line description: Renders conversation branches as a clickable tree
  • Maintainer: JRJRJPRO
  • Category: Client
  • License: MIT

Installation and Activation

Install in a Web or CLI environment:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:JRJRJPRO/dsh-chat-tree

After installation, refresh the browser. The plugin takes effect immediately without restarting DSH.

Core Features

  1. Conversation tree visualization: Draws the conversation branch tree on the right side of DeepSeek Harness, with each turn represented as a node.
  2. Quick navigation: Click a node to jump to a specific turn. The turn currently being viewed is highlighted.
  3. Collapsible sidebar: The left-side session list supports collapsing. When expanded, it shows running/completed status; when collapsed, it shows only the branch count.
  4. Node detail card: Double-click a node card to expand it. It supports renaming, changing its shape and color, and uploading images.
  5. Node operations:
    • +: Start a new branch from this turn.
    • ☆: Favorite the node.
    • ⇥ / ⇤: Split or merge a branch.
    • ×: Delete a branch (only supported for the first turn).
  6. Configurable settings:
    • Visibility range: Controls the visible depth or distance to prevent a large tree from blocking the view.
    • Node size: Adjusts node dots, lines, and spacing (50% - 250%).
    • Color/shape: Customize the node color and shape style.
  7. Color coding:
    • Blue: Current conversation turn.
    • Green: Branch completed in the background.
    • Orange: Compressed turn.
    • Gray: Reverted turn.

Typical Usage

  1. After installation, refresh the page. The tree appears on the right side of the chat window.
  2. Click any dot, and the chat history scrolls to the corresponding turn.
  3. Click the + beside the dot to continue the conversation from that turn.
  4. Double-click a node card. After it expands, you can change its name, color, or upload an image.
  5. Drag the left edge of the tree to adjust the width ratio between the tree and the chat window.

Use Cases and Notes

  • Use cases: DSH users who need to manage multi-branch conversations frequently.
  • Dependencies: schemastery is required.
  • Engine requirement: DeepSeek Harness engine version must be >=0.1.5-rc.2.
  • Node.js requirement: >=20.
  • Data storage: Node names, favorite status, icons, and colors are stored on the DSH side and can be synchronized across devices.
  • Deletion restriction: Only the first turn in the conversation supports deleting a branch. Deleting a branch archives the entire branch.
  • Disabled-action hints: If an operation is disabled (for example, deleting a non-first turn), the button is grayed out and shows the reason.
