The desktop application for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) must remain running on the machine to process agent tasks. When a user needs to operate or check progress from a phone, directly controlling the computer is often inconvenient. dsh-wechat-plugin solves this problem: it allows users to communicate bidirectionally on mobile WeChat with the DSH agent running on the computer, enabling them to control task execution on the desktop through phone chat.
This is a client-side plugin maintained by developer xcisxc29 under the MIT license. It does not require OpenClaw or a public IP, and runs directly within the process of the DSH desktop application.
Core Features¶
The plugin implements the following capabilities:
- Bidirectional Text Messages: WeChat messages from the phone are converted directly into DSH prompts, and agent replies are sent back to the phone through WeChat.
- Bidirectional Media Transfer: Supports bidirectional transfer of photos, files, voice, and video. Attachments are saved to the session workspace and processed by the agent; the agent can also send files using the
send_to_wechatcommand. - Multi-Session Management: A single WeChat conversation can manage multiple DSH sessions. Use commands to switch between different conversation contexts.
- Automatic Permission Responses: When the phone side triggers a DSH permission confirmation or multi-choice question, the plugin sends the prompt to WeChat, and the user only needs to reply with a number without returning to the computer.
- Proactive Push: A DSH session can proactively send messages to WeChat (for example, reminding of wake-up time) if the workspace settings allow it.
- Non-WeChat Workspace Support: The agent can run in non-WeChat workspaces (such as workplace) and push results to WeChat.
- Settings Integration: Configuration can be managed centrally in the DSH Settings page (Settings → WeChat).
Installation and Enablement¶
The plugin must be installed in the DSH desktop application and depends on DSH’s workspace, tool, and UI services. Before installing, make sure the DSH process on the computer is running.
Method 1: Install Through the DSH Interface¶
- Click Plugins in the DSH sidebar.
- Select Add Plugin.
- Enter the package name or Git URL in the input field.
- Package name:
dsh-wechat-plugin - Git URL:
https://github.com/xcisxc29/dsh-wechat
- Package name:
- Wait for the build to complete, click Enable Now, and then restart DSH.
Method 2: Install Through the Command Line¶
dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-wechat-plugin
When installing from GitHub, DSH calls pnpm to perform the build. During the build, pnpm requests permission for the first time, which is normal.
Typical Usage¶
After installing the plugin and restarting DSH, follow these steps to start using it:
- Open Settings → WeChat.
- Click Rescan QR Code, and use mobile WeChat to scan the QR code on the screen.
- Send a message in WeChat to test the connection:
你好
- Use commands to manage DSH sessions:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
/new 修复登录 |
Create a new session named “Fix login”. If no title is specified, the first message is used as the name. |
/list |
List the sessions in the current workspace (10 lines per screen). |
/list all |
List all local workspaces and their session counts; reply with a number or name to enter the corresponding workspace. |
/switch 3 |
Switch to the third session in the current list. |
/switch e716f0 |
Switch to the session identified by the short ID (e716f0). |
查看其余 |
View the next page or all items in the list. |
Notes and Use Cases¶
- Runtime Environment: The plugin runs inside the process of the DSH desktop application, so the DSH desktop application must be running and must have loaded the workspace, tool, and UI services.
- Voice Processing: WeChat voice notes are in SILK format by default. DSH passes the raw SILK file directly to the agent. If local transcription to WAV is needed, install the
silk-wasmplugin:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add silk-wasm
- Build Permissions: When installing from Git, the build process requests
pnpmpermissions, which is a necessary configuration step. - Target Audience: Suitable for developers who need to remotely control DSH agents on a computer or use a phone as a control terminal in mobile scenarios.
Conclusion¶
dsh-wechat-plugin provides a lightweight remote-control entry point for the DSH desktop application by leveraging WeChat, a frequently used communication tool. It supports not only basic text interaction but also file transfer and permission management, making it an effective complement for connecting mobile devices with desktop agent workflows.
