Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, with all feature modules implemented as plugins. When developing agents or using Volcano Ark’s Coding Plan / Agent Plan, real-time monitoring of quota consumption is a necessary step. The dsh-ark-quota plugin aims to solve the problem of persistently viewing Volcano Ark usage in the DSH Web GUI. Through a floating window and background refresh mechanism, it provides an intuitive usage overview.

Plugin Overview

dsh-ark-quota is a local plugin running on the DSH Web side, maintained by user zpliao123. It reads Volcano Engine IAM access keys, calls OpenAPI to retrieve usage data, and persistently stores the results in a local configuration file.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core capabilities:

  1. Right-side floating window: Provides a toggleable floating window (shell.overlay) on the right side of the page. After clicking to expand it, displays different time periods based on the selected Plan type:
    • Coding Plan: current session / last 1 week / last 1 month
    • Agent Plan: last 5 hours / last 1 week / last 1 month
  2. Settings page configuration: Provides the “Volcano Ark Usage” option in the DSH settings page. Users must enter the Volcano Engine AccessKey ID and Secret Access Key here, control showing/hiding the floating window, and set the automatic refresh interval.
  3. Scheduled automatic refresh: The plugin calls the OpenAPI interface at the configured interval through the background host to retrieve data, while the client syncs every 30 seconds to ensure data freshness.
  4. Local persistence: All sensitive credentials (AK/SK) and configuration items (floating window toggle, refresh interval) are stored in ~/.dsh/dsh-ark-quota/config.json. After restarting DSH, the configuration is loaded automatically, with no need to re-enter it.
  5. Model tool support: The plugin provides a model tool named ark_coding_plan_usage, which can be called directly in a conversation to query usage.

Installation and Enablement

Since no standard installation command is provided, it needs to be enabled manually by configuring the local plugin package:

  1. Extract or clone the plugin package into profiles/web/node_modules/dsh-ark-quota/ under the DSH Web Profile directory.
  2. Edit the profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml file and insert the plugin configuration at the appropriate location:
    - insert:
        - id: ark-quota
          name: dsh-ark-quota
  1. Restart DSH Web (run dsh web in the command line or use the desktop app), and the plugin becomes effective.

Typical Usage

  • Initial configuration: After restarting DSH, click the floating window on the right side of the page or the “Volcano Ark Usage” option in the settings page, and enter the Volcano Engine AccessKey ID and Secret Access Key. After the first entry, the credentials are stored locally.
  • Tool invocation: In a DSH conversation, directly invoke the model tool ark_coding_plan_usage to retrieve usage data.

Notes

  • Credential type: The credentials entered here are the AccessKeys from Volcano Engine “Access Control (IAM) → Access Key,” not the Ark API Key dedicated to model inference.
  • Security restrictions: The plugin communicates with the backend through a local HTTP interface, and the interface only allows local loopback access. The Secret Access Key is never sent to the browser; it is only used in local memory.

Conclusion

dsh-ark-quota provides basic monitoring capabilities for Volcano Ark usage to DSH users by combining a floating window with a configuration page. Its credential persistence and automatic refresh mechanisms reduce maintenance costs in daily use. To view the directory or source code, visit: Plugin directory | GitHub
