When developing agents in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) environment, the conversation window is often insufficient for code viewing, file management, and version control. The DSH Editor plugin provides a VS Code-style code editor view in the runtime environment of DSH or ACRYL Desktop.

This is a DSH plugin maintained by cordisplugins, installed via the standard dsh plugin add command, and it adds a Files tab to the main session area.

Core Features

The plugin integrates capabilities such as file browsing, code editing, search and replace, and document preview:

  • File Tree: Browse workspace directories, with expand/collapse support. Git status badges (such as M, A, ??) are shown next to file list entries; click a badge to view diffs.
  • Monaco Editor: Supports multiple file tabs, syntax highlighting, minimap, configurable word wrap/font size/indentation, and custom keyboard shortcuts.
  • Cross-file Search: Built on ripgrep, supports streaming results, virtual scrolling (can handle 20,000 results), switching between regex/whole-word matching, include/exclude filters, and cross-file replacement.
  • Markdown Preview: Supports source/preview/split views, renders Mermaid diagrams, KaTeX math formulas, and task lists.
  • Quick Open: Press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac) to quickly open files via fuzzy matching of relative paths.
  • Chat Path Navigation: Click a file path in inline code snippets in the chat to directly jump to the Files tab and open the corresponding file.
  • Theme Sync: The editor, highlighter, and diagrams follow DSH’s light/dark theme in real time.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, ensure the environment meets the following requirements:

  • Node.js version >= 20
  • ripgrep installed in the system PATH (for cross-file search; the feature degrades if it is missing)
  • git installed in the system PATH (for status badges and diff viewing; optional)

Install on DSH Web / ACRYL Web

Use the officially recommended command to add the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add acryl-dsh-editor-plugin-web

After installation, restart DSH or ACRYL Web (dsh web --profile web), and a Files tab will appear in the main interface.

Install on ACRYL Desktop

ACRYL Desktop includes a built-in DSH plugin runtime, so you can use the following command directly (without --profile web):

dsh plugin add acryl-dsh-editor-plugin-web

Restart ACRYL Desktop to load the plugin module.

Typical Usage

  • Browse and Git Management: In the Files tab, expand project directories and check file change status. Click an M (modified) or A (added) badge to view specific code diffs in the editor.
  • Quick Location: If you forget a file name, use Ctrl+P to type part of the file name; the plugin will locate it quickly via fuzzy matching.
  • Context Jumping: If a line of code in the chat references src/utils/helpers.js, click the path string directly; the editor will automatically navigate to the Files tab and open that file.

Notes

The plugin is deprecated. The officially recommended universal package is acryl-dsh-editor-plugin (without suffix); with dsh.client.platform: "web" configuration, it supports both Web and Desktop, so the -web suffix is no longer needed.

  • Plugin Activation: After modifying the plugin list, you must restart DSH or ACRYL Desktop for the changes to take effect.
  • Dynamic Installation: The plugin source provides src/host.js and src/client.js, which can be dynamically loaded in the current session using the cordis_define and cordis_run tools, without modifying configuration files.
