Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness plugin ecosystem allows developers to extend Web UI functionality. For users who also use Claude Code, monitoring Anthropic quota limits in real time within the DSH Web interface is a common need. The existing DSH UI does not include this feature built in. The dsh-claude-usage plugin addresses this by adding a usage ring to the right side of the settings row.

Overview

Maintained by leonardoxr, this plugin is an Anthropic Claude plan usage indicator for the DeepSeek Harness Web UI. It preserves the appearance of the standard settings gear and tabs while adding a context-dashboard-style usage ring on the right side. The ring contains the Anthropic logo and opens a detailed quota panel on mouse hover or keyboard focus.

Core Features

  • Native Look: Uses the same 28px geometry and DSH design tokens as the conversation context dashboard to ensure visual consistency.
  • Complete Quota Details: Displays the full Claude plan limitation information, including the 5-hour session window, weekly window, model-scoped weekly limits, additional usage status, plan tier, and rate-limit tier.
  • Polling and Caching Strategy: Polls every 5 minutes by default and can be configured via the bundle row. Supports hover refresh with 250ms debouncing and sends only one request at a time. The plugin respects Anthropic’s Retry-After cooldown mechanism and falls back to “last good” data when temporary failures occur.
  • Security and Privacy: The plugin reads the OAuth access token through a Loopback API route and applies strict normalization. It performs read-only access only and never stores, transmits, logs, or refreshes the token.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure the environment meets the following requirements:
- Node.js 20 or later
- pnpm 10
- DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1-rc.2 or a compatible version
- Claude Code CLI is logged in (claude login)

Run the following command in the plugin directory to add it to the Web profile:

dsh plugin --profile web add .

After installation, navigate to Settings → Plugins → Claude usage in the DSH Web UI to confirm that the plugin has been enabled.

Configuration

In Settings → Plugins → Claude usage, you can configure the following four parameters. These changes are local only until you click Save; after saving, they are persisted through DSH settings and applied immediately to the current Web window.

Setting Default Value Description
refreshIntervalMs 300000 Background polling interval, minimum 60 seconds.
hoverRefreshMinAgeMs 30000 Minimum interval between hover refreshes, minimum 5 seconds.
requestTimeoutMs 15000 Timeout for each Anthropic usage request.
credentialsFile (empty) Optional absolute path to the Claude Code credentials file. If left empty, the system default location is used.

How It Works

  1. Host Plugin: Injects into DSH’s webServer service and registers the GET /api/plugins/claude-usage route.
  2. Credential Reading: For each request, the Host process reads or looks up the Claude Code OAuth access token in read-only mode.
  3. Data Retrieval: Calls Anthropic’s OAuth usage endpoint (the same backend as Claude Code’s /usage command) using the oauth-2025-04-20 beta header.
  4. Data Normalization: A strict normalizer returns only quota-related data (percentages, ISO reset times, and additional usage flags).
  5. Client Rendering: The browser registers independent actions and reserves space to the right of the settings row without interfering with the built-in settings button.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Operating Systems: Currently supports Windows or Linux only. macOS credentials are stored in Keychain and are not supported yet.
  • Permission Requirements: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process and reads ~/.claude/.credentials.json. Please keep an eye on source code and licensing.
  • Read-Only Safety: This plugin is only for viewing quotas and does not trigger token refresh or disrupt existing login sessions.

Summary

dsh-claude-usage provides native Claude quota monitoring for DeepSeek Harness users. Through carefully designed caching strategies and a strict Loopback mechanism, it provides practical quota information without compromising system security.
