Introduction¶
During the development or use of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), sessions may be interrupted unexpectedly due to timeouts, network fluctuations, or output limits. In such cases, it is usually necessary to enter the entire prompt again to recover. The dsh-continue plugin addresses this pain point by adding a resume button to the interface: when a session ends unexpectedly, it can continue directly using the existing context without re-entering the prompt.
Plugin Introduction¶
inmny/dsh-continue is a client plugin that adds direct resume capability to DeepSeek Harness. It is maintained by inmny, licensed under MIT, and aims to improve recovery efficiency after session interruptions.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following capabilities:
- Zero-prompt resume: The resume process directly reuses the existing session context and does not add user messages such as “continue” or other extra text to the conversation history.
- Covers common abnormal endings: Supports failed model requests, exhausted retries, output token limits reached, process crashes, Host interruptions, user-initiated stops, and rounds that were not closed normally.
- Precise subagent selection: Only the latest eligible abnormal
continuablesubagent can be resumed. For subagents that have completed, areone-shot, were interrupted earlier, or whose parent session is offline, the plugin remains read-only. - Preserves original runtime configuration: If the session is currently not loaded, the plugin automatically restores the original Agent preset, model, provider, and inference strength before resuming from the interruption point.
- Prevents duplicate execution: The plugin automatically handles repeated clicks, stale buttons, concurrent input, and leftover crash states. When normal input arrives, normal input takes priority.
- Displays the button based on state: The button appears only when the current session can actually be resumed. It is not displayed for normally completed sessions.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, make sure the environment meets the following requirements:
* DeepSeek Harness version is 0.1.7-rc.1.
* Node.js version is 24 or higher.
* GitHub SSH access is configured on the local machine.
The command to install into the DSH Web profile is as follows:
dsh plugin --profile web add "git+ssh://git@github.com/inmny/dsh-continue.git#main"
After installation, you must stop and restart DSH Web to load the plugin. Refreshing the browser alone cannot reload Host plugins.
Usage and Updates¶
After installation, a “Resume” button will appear on the interface when a session is interrupted unexpectedly. Click the button to continue execution from the current context.
To update the plugin, run the following commands:
dsh plugin --profile web update dsh-plugin-continue
dsh web
After updating, DSH Web must also be restarted.
The command to uninstall the plugin is as follows:
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-plugin-continue
Notes¶
- The plugin registers
dsh-continuethrough its bundledcordis.patch.yml. When using the Web profile, do not manually add a plugin line with the same name to the Web profile’scordis.patch.yml, as this will cause duplicate registration. - After updating or installing, you must run
dsh webto restart the process; otherwise, the plugin will not take effect.
Conclusion¶
The dsh-continue plugin reduces the recovery cost after DSH session interruptions by automating context restoration and implementing precise exception handling logic. For developers who frequently engage in long conversations or complex tasks, it is a practical tool.
