DeepSeek Harness (DSH) extends core functionality through a plugin-based architecture. For image classification scenarios, the xby-animal-recognition plugin provides label recognition capabilities for animal images. It does not rely on additional preprocessing steps and directly outputs animal category labels.

What This Is

xby-animal-recognition is a model inference plugin maintained by xby-skill. It focuses on classifying images containing animals and outputs animal category labels. This plugin is licensed under the MIT License.

Installation

Before installing, make sure that DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is already installed and available. Add the plugin to the web configuration file using the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:xby_skill/xby-animal-recognition

After installation is complete, the plugin becomes active and its functionality can be invoked from chat or the command line.

Configuration

Before using this plugin, you must obtain and configure an API key.

  1. Obtain the key: Register on the official XBY website and obtain an API key.
  2. Set the key: Execute the following command in chat to set the key. The key is persisted automatically and remains valid after restarting the process.
set_xby_apikey <your API key>

Core Features

This plugin provides the following four core capabilities, corresponding to different input methods:

  • set_xby_apikey: Sets the API key in chat (automatically persisted and remains valid after restart).
  • animal_recognition: Performs label recognition on images containing animals, requiring no additional input, and outputs animal category labels. Requires an image file link as input.
  • animal_recognition_for_data_base64: Performs label recognition on images containing animals, requiring no additional input, and outputs animal category labels. Requires the BASE64 encoding of an image file as input.
  • animal_recognition_for_data_file: Performs label recognition on images containing animals, requiring no additional input, and outputs animal category labels. Requires the file path of an image file as input.

Typical Usage

Depending on the required input method, select the corresponding feature to invoke:

  1. Recognize an image link:
Enter the command with an image link. The plugin returns the recognized animal category.

  2. Recognize BASE64 encoding:
Enter the command with the BASE64 encoding of the image. The plugin performs recognition and returns the category.

  3. Recognize a local file path:
Enter the command with the absolute file path of the image. The plugin reads the file contents and performs recognition.

Notes

  • Permission requirements: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Make sure you have read permission for the image file path.
  • Prerequisites: The API key must be set (set_xby_apikey) before invoking the recognition features.
  • License: Before installing and using the plugin, review the source code and the terms of the MIT License to ensure compliance with usage requirements.
