Preface

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” During development or usage, developers often need to confirm which capabilities are already configured locally, while also finding suitable plugins from the community. The dsh-capability-resolver plugin addresses the gap between local capabilities and community plugin discovery. It is a read-only tool focused on querying and matching.

Plugin Overview

The plugin is maintained by striveh and is released under the MIT license. It reads the current Loader module names as well as the tools and skills available to the model, retrieves entries from a fixed HTTPS community catalog, and performs deterministic ranking and matching for Chinese and English requirements on the host side.

Core Capabilities

  1. Read local capabilities: Reads the current Loader module names and the tools and skills available to the model.
  2. Retrieve community catalog: Retrieves only the fixed HTTPS community catalog (https://awesome-dsh-plugin.com/plugins.).
  3. Parse and isolate: Uses bounded-input parsing to process the catalog and isolate invalid entries instead of causing the entire discovery process to fail.
  4. Rank and match: Performs deterministic ranking for Chinese and English requirements on the host.
  5. Return results: Returns one of use-existing, consider-plugin, no-match, or unavailable.
  6. RPC exposure: Exposes results over a loopback-only RPC channel scoped to /dsh-capability-resolver.
  7. UI and tool: Adds a discovery tab and a read-only capability_resolve tool in the Web plugin settings.
  8. Structured evidence: May expose a strictly parsed npm package name as structured installSpec evidence.

Installation and Enablement

Prerequisites:
* DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1-rc.2
* Node.js 22.19 or later
* pnpm on the PATH

Install the specified plugin version into the Web profile:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:striveh/dsh-capability-resolver#v0.1.1
dsh --profile web --dump-config
dsh web

After installation, restart the Web profile.

Usage

Open Web Settings, select Plugins, and use the discovery tab to describe a capability in English or Chinese. The page prioritizes configured matches and displays community candidates only when the local ranker finds evidence.

The model-side tool capability_resolve also provides the same read-only discovery path.

Notes

  1. Read-only mechanism: This resolver is read-only. It does not install, enable, disable, update, or execute candidate plugins.
  2. Metadata nature: Catalog metrics (inclusion, topics, stars, downloads) are discovery metadata. They do not constitute DeepSeek’s endorsement, compatibility proof, security review, or installation recommendation.
  3. Version compatibility: Version 0.1.1 explicitly declares a target of DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1-rc.2, and does not claim compatibility with older or newer versions.
  4. Security and trust: This plugin does not provide sandboxing, malware scanning, package signature verification, dependency audits, or maintainer identity verification.
  5. Catalog URL: The catalog URL is intentionally not configurable.
