Preface

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” During agent development and debugging, developers often need to quickly locate the system working directory (cwd) used by the current session. In the Web UI environment, directly invoking the operating system to open the current directory is a frequent requirement. The dsh-open-folder plugin standardizes this operation by adding an entry point to the session header.

Plugin Introduction

dsh-open-folder is a DSH Web UI plugin maintained by developer KureKaruna. Its core purpose is to add an “Open Workspace” button to the left of the “Session log” button in the conversation.session.header.utilities area at the far right of the session header. When the button is clicked, the plugin reads the cwd of the current Session and uses the Host’s workspaces.openPath() to invoke the operating system to open that folder.

Core Features

  • Position and Ordering: It uses the conversation.session.header.utilities list slot and sets order: -10 during registration, so it appears to the left of the “Session log” button, which has the default order: 0.
  • Automatic Disabling: If the current session has no available cwd (for example, a blank session or an abnormal session), the button is automatically disabled.
  • Permissions and Implementation: It is a pure browser plugin, while the Host side provides a no-op entry point. The button calls the Host’s workspaces.openPath(cwd), so it opens the actual working directory of the current Session rather than a browser frontend path.

Installation and Enabling

After downloading the plugin files, run the following command in your local terminal:

cd C:\Users\Jason-Woo\Desktop && dsh plugin --profile <你的profile> add .\dsh-open-folder

After installation is complete, start the Web UI, open any workspace session, and you will see the “Open Workspace” button to the left of the Session log button on the right side of the header.

Typical Usage

  1. Launch the DeepSeek Harness Web UI.
  2. Open any session that has a clear working directory.
  3. Click the “Open Workspace” button in the toolbar on the right side of the header.
  4. The operating system will open the corresponding folder based on the cwd of the current Session.

Applicable Scenarios and Cautions

This plugin is suitable for developers who need to quickly jump to the working directory of the current agent context within the Web UI. Be aware that the button’s operational permissions are provided by the DSH Host. It is recommended to check the source code and license before installation.

Conclusion

dsh-open-folder provides a low-cost directory-jumping solution, connecting the Web UI with local file-system operations.
