DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, aiming to extend capabilities through modularization. In development and multi-session management scenarios, users often need intuitive status feedback and task progress tracking. The dsh-foxbell-pet plugin provides a draggable desktop pet system in the bottom-right corner of DSH Web or the desktop client, integrating multi-project status monitoring, efficiency usage dashboards, and voice interaction into a single visual interface.

This plugin is maintained by jarvislee90s-dot. It includes a built-in little fox, Foxbell, by default and supports hot switching through external pet systems.

Core Features

Multi-Project Status Monitoring
The desktop pet displays status cards above its head according to the MAM (Multi-Agent Management) color coding:
* Red: Pending approval
* Yellow: Running
* Green: Completed unread (click to confirm and dismiss)
* Dark red + ⚠: Error disconnection (distinct from the red pending-approval state)
Clicking a status card switches directly to that project’s session and marks it as read.

External Pet System
The plugin provides complete pet management features:
* Hot switching: Built-in and imported pets are managed in the same place, can be switched with a click, and do not require a page refresh.
* Multi-source import: Supports importing from local folders, Zip packages, Codex pet directories, and the Petdex online repository.
* Integrity guard: When switching, it validates the integrity of the atlas, voice assets, and manifest to ensure stable operation.
* Magnet Store management: Pet data is stored in ~/.dsh/foxbell-pet/pets/<id>/, and safe deletion is supported (moved to the trash).

Efficiency and Usage Dashboard
* Efficiency dashboard: Displays the “rhythm posture” based on an event timeline, including high-intensity, active, long-task, idle, and slacking-off states. Hover over the pet to view five-metric Token usage (request input, cache hit, hit rate, output, and your input).
* Usage dashboard: Provides three levels of disclosure (L1 mini bar, L2 small blackboard, and L3 main-column large dashboard), supports collapsing data by day/hour/route/tool, and provides image export.

Interaction and Physical Feel
* Drag physics: Supports horizontal throw inertia, gravity-based falling, landing squash and rebound, position memory, and boundary clamping.
* Voice interaction: Plays the done group on completion, the approval group when pending approval (10-second rate limit), and the error group on errors.
* Right-click menu: Provides a show/hide toggle, size adjustment (0.75/1/1.25), five-scene action binding, pet switching, and about information.

Installation and Activation

Use the official installation command to complete installation. Plugin build artifacts are committed with the repository, so no local build is required.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:jarvislee90s-dot/dsh-foxbell-pet#release

After installation, restart dsh web and hard refresh the browser (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R) to see the desktop pet. The settings page will show a foxbell-pet configuration card, and there is a show/hide toggle at the bottom of the sidebar.

Usage Instructions

  • Switch pet: Click to switch in the “Pet Management” area of the right-click menu or settings card; it takes effect immediately.
  • View usage: Hover the mouse over the desktop pet for about 0.5 seconds to view the mini bar. Right-click and select “📊 View Recent Summary” or “📈 Usage Dashboard” to expand detailed data.
  • Action binding: In “Five-Scene Action Binding” in the right-click menu, configure the actions corresponding to double-click, red light, yellow light, dark red light, and green light; real-time preview is supported.

Environment Requirements and Considerations

  • Host version: Requires DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ≥ 0.1.2-rc.1. v2.3.0 is adapted to the DSH 0.2.0-rc.2 desktop runtime.
  • Version compatibility: v1.x is not supported; please ensure you are using the v2.x series.
  • Dependency note: The plugin does not directly depend on @deepseek-ai/dsh-settings; this service is provided by the host runtime.
  • Local development: If you need to install from source, Node ≥ 20 and pnpm are required. Use dsh plugin --profile web add . to install via link.

Summary

dsh-foxbell-pet is a DSH plugin that combines practical monitoring tools with a desktop pet. It visually addresses the need for multi-project status tracking and Token usage statistics, while offering rich interactions and customization options.
