Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) extends functionality through a plugin mechanism. dsh-workspace-presets is a plugin designed to address the cumbersome process of manually configuring Agent presets in different workspaces. It allows developers to bind an Agent preset to a specific workspace, and new sessions under that workspace automatically apply the preset.
Plugin Overview¶
- Name: dsh-workspace-presets
- Core function: Workspace-level Agent preset binding
- Maintainer: GBDJXB
- License: MIT
- Compatible versions: DSH 0.1.5, 0.1.7, 0.2.0
Core Features¶
- Native settings page: Adds a native “Workspace presets” page to the DSH settings panel, displaying the binding relationships between workspaces and presets in table format.
- Automatic application: If a workspace has a binding, blank sessions under that workspace automatically apply the bound preset. This includes hidden blank sessions maintained for each workspace in the sidebar.
- Fallback mechanism: If a workspace has no bound preset or the binding does not exist, the system falls back to DSH default behavior (global default or the launch page selector).
- Session isolation: The plugin does not affect sessions that have already started, sub-agent sessions, or archived sessions.
- Manual priority: On blank sessions, manually selecting a Chip always takes priority over the automatically bound preset.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, make sure the DSH deployment includes Agent preset configuration and the system environment contains pnpm.
Option 1: Install from npm¶
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-workspace-presets
Option 2: Install from GitHub¶
dsh plugin --profile web add github:GBDJXB/dsh-workspace-presets
Option 3: Install from a local folder¶
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/GBDJXB/dsh-workspace-presets.git
cd dsh-workspace-presets
- Install dependencies (this step is required for local installation):
npm install
- Add the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add .
After installation, restart the DSH process and refresh the browser (Ctrl+Shift+R). You can find the “Workspace presets” page under “Settings” at the bottom of the sidebar.
Compatibility and Notes¶
- Version requirements: The plugin supports DSH versions 0.1.5, 0.1.7, and 0.2.0. In version 0.1.7, presets must be declared in the Composition. If presets are missing, run the corresponding image script.
- Local installation dependencies: When installing from a local folder, you must run
npm installinside the repository directory first. Otherwise, anERR_MODULE_NOT_FOUNDerror may occur during startup. - Effective scope: Bindings take effect only on blank sessions. Started sessions, sub-agent sessions, and archived sessions are not affected. Manually selecting an Agent chip on a blank session overrides the automatically bound behavior.
- DSH Desktop: Desktop 2.x uses a separate profile to install plugins. The command must specify
--profile desktop.
Conclusion¶
dsh-workspace-presets reduces the configuration cost of DSH in multi-workspace scenarios by providing visual preset binding at the settings level. After installation and configuration, starting new sessions becomes deterministic and latency-free, with no additional model call cost.
