DeepSeek Harness (dsh) uses a plugin-based architecture. @openllmsh/dsh is a plugin package for routing Harness traffic to the OpenLLM Gateway and registering the OpenLLM MCP server. It adds OpenLLM as the default model to the built-in llm-pi-ai adapter. This is a configuration-only Cordis patch layer with no runtime code.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. LLM Router: Adds the openllm provider to dsh’s built-in llm-pi-ai adapter, pointing to the local gateway http://127.0.0.1:8787/v1 and setting it as the default model. No API key is required; authentication is handled by the daemon.
  2. MCP Server: Registers the openllm mcp stdio server, providing the openllm, claude-context, and supermemory tool groups.
  3. Configuration-Only Layer: Implementations are done through cordis.patch.yml, with no runtime code.

Prerequisites

Before using this plugin, the following conditions must be met:

  • Install OpenLLM: OpenLLM must be installed first.
  • Run the Daemon: Ensure that openllmd is running.
  • Node.js Version: The engine requires Node.js ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0.

Installation and Activation

The plugin is installed into a specific profile. Please select the corresponding command based on your runtime environment:

Browser UI (web profile):

dsh plugin --profile web add github:openllmsh/dsh

Headless / CLI (headless profile):

dsh plugin --profile headless add github:openllmsh/dsh

Local development/debugging (demo profile):

dsh plugin --profile demo add .

After installation, restart the corresponding profile.

How It Works

  • Communication Mechanism: The plugin only communicates with the local gateway http://127.0.0.1:8787. The plugin itself does not hold secrets or sources.
  • Authentication Handling: The gateway does not require the plugin to provide authentication. The OpenLLM daemon reads ~/.openllm/.env and handles upstream authentication itself.
  • Runtime Location: The plugin runs on the host’s DeepSeek Harness process and relies on the base environment provided by the host’s @deepseek-ai/dsh-base.

The source code is located in src/index.ts (placeholder), while the actual logic is in cordis.patch.yml.

Note: The lib/ directory is committed to the repository, so installing directly from GitHub does not require a build step. After modifying src/, you need to rebuild and commit lib/.
