Preface

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When debugging or using the Web interface day to day, checking the currently running version, plugin versions, and release notes is a common need. DSH’s native Settings panel lacks this entry point, and the dsh-about plugin provides that supplement.

What It Is

dsh-about is a client plugin that adds an “About” page to the DeepSeek Harness Web Settings panel. It is developed by 1010n111 and is intended to display the current DSH version, plugin version, project homepage, and version source.

Core Features

  • Navigation Integration: Adds an “About” menu item to the left navigation of the Settings dialog. Uses order: 9999 to fix it as the last navigation item, so it is not overwritten by new menu items added by other plugins.
  • Language Adaptation: The UI supports both Chinese and English, and automatically follows the DSH Settings panel language setting (General Settings -> Language). The fallback is the browser language.
  • Information Display: Displays the currently running DSH version (consistent with dsh --version), plugin version (e.g. dsh-about · v0.0.4), project homepage, and version source.
  • Release Notes: Automatically fetches GitHub Releases for deepseek-harness (defaults to the most recent 5 entries). The currently running version is pinned at the top and highlighted. Supports expand/collapse. Shows … while loading, and — on load failure, with a specific error message.
  • Technical Implementation: Pure frontend plus one read-only HTTP endpoint. It does not write any configuration or modify persistent data.

Installation and Enablement

Prerequisites: DSH Web profile (dsh web / --profile web), dsh ≥ 0.1.1-rc.x.

Run the following command to install:

After installation, restart dsh web.

Typical Usage

  1. Open the Settings dialog.
  2. Find the “About” menu item at the end of the left navigation.
  3. Click to view version information and release notes.

Notes

  • Old methods are no longer required: The old manual mounting method is no longer needed; the install command automatically handles synchronization of dsh.profile.bundles.
  • Version consistency: During development or release, ensure that package.json and PLUGIN_VERSION in lib/index.js are consistent. Otherwise, the plugin version displayed on the “About” page will be inaccurate.
