Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is that “everything is a plugin.” When building agents or integrating MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools, configuration changes or restarting the host are usually required for the changes to take effect. The dsh-mcp-manage plugin provides MCP management capabilities for the DSH Web GUI. Through the settings page, users can directly view all installed tools, add or edit server configurations, and enable or disable services. All operations take effect immediately, without restarting the host or modifying the dsh source code.
Core Features¶
- View all installed MCP tools: Each server is displayed with a count of “N tools,” and can be expanded to view the tool list.
- Add MCP servers: Supports both
stdioandstreamable-httptransports. - Edit and restart: After editing any field, the instance automatically restarts with the new configuration.
- Uninstall and delete: Uninstalls the running instance and deletes the persisted record.
- Enable/Disable: One-click toggle; disabling immediately unloads, and enabling immediately loads.
- Combined configuration management: MCP entries provided in combined configurations (
cordis.yml/ patch) can be edited, disabled, or removed at runtime. - Persistence: Records and override states are saved in
$DSH_HOME/mcp-manage/servers.json, and are automatically restored after the host restarts.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the following command to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-mcp-manage
After installation is complete, restart dsh web, and then use the Settings → MCP Management page.
Notes¶
- Version requirement: Requires DSH version ≥ 0.1.0-rc.6.
- No restart required: No host restart is needed for any operations.
- Source code protection: No modification of the dsh source code is required, and the source combined configuration files will not be modified.
- Visible failures: Startup failures are visible and will not be retried silently in the background.
