When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) locally for in-depth development or debugging, long periods of focused work can make it easy to neglect basic physiological needs. dsh-wellness aims to solve this problem by monitoring the status of local DSH sessions and reminding you, in conversational form during idle times, to eat meals on time, take breaks, and log off.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-wellness is a client plugin maintained by ZSCDumin. It does not rely on external services and runs directly inside the DSH process. It sends reminder messages through an active agent session instead of disturbing you with system pop-ups.
Core Features¶
- Meal and sleep reminders: Supports configuring breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sleep times. Reminders are triggered once per day and do not interrupt running agent sessions.
- Sedentary break reminders: Starts timing when an agent running in a DSH session is detected. After reaching the configured active duration (default 120 minutes), an active agent reminds you to take a break. A cooldown mechanism (default 20 minutes) prevents frequent interruptions.
- Session monitoring: The plugin tracks the status of dsh sessions on your machine in real time.
- Conversational notifications: Reminders are sent as regular session messages rather than system push notifications.
Installation and Activation¶
First, install the plugin into your web profile configuration:
dsh plugin --profile web add <PACKAGE-NAME>
After installation, restart the dsh web service to load the plugin.
Configuration¶
Open the cordis.patch.yml file in your profile and override the plugin configuration lines. Times must be configured in 24-hour HH:MM format.
- id: wellness
name: <PACKAGE-NAME>
config:
mealTimes:
breakfast: '08:00'
lunch: '12:00'
dinner: '18:00'
sleepTime: '23:00'
activeBreakMinutes: 120
breakCooldownMinutes: 20
idleMinutes: 5
pollSeconds: 60
Field descriptions:
* mealTimes: Sets the time for each meal. Setting a value to an empty string or null disables that reminder.
* activeBreakMinutes: The amount of continuous work that triggers a break reminder.
* breakCooldownMinutes: The cooldown period for break reminders, preventing repeated interruptions.
* idleMinutes: The idle grace period used to determine whether the session is still active.
* pollSeconds: The interval in seconds for polling session status.
Use Cases and Considerations¶
- Use cases: Suitable for developers who need to maintain DSH sessions for long periods and may easily forget to take breaks.
- Depends on idle sessions: The plugin cannot be triggered through push notifications or system notifications. If the app is closed or all sessions are running agents, reminders will wait until an idle session becomes available.
- Timing scope: Work time is counted only when an agent in a DSH session is running (or briefly idle); leaving the DSH interface does not count.
- State reset: Progress is stored in memory, and timing is reset after restarting the plugin or application.
- Permissions and security: Check the source code and license (MIT) before installing the plugin.
