Introduction¶
When accessing DeepSeek Harness on a phone through a remote desktop, the desktop web layout often does not adapt well to portrait mode or touch operation, and Chinese input is especially inconvenient. The dsh-remote-desktop plugin adapts to remote desktop use cases, turning the Harness Web interface into a form suitable for phone landscape reading and touch control, with a built-in Chinese input method.
What It Is¶
This is a remote desktop mobile plugin maintained by user zptalk0221-cpu. It does not provide remote desktop connection services. Instead, it functions as a wrapper extension for DeepSeek Harness, offering landscape adaptation, session list toggling, and Chinese input support within a remote desktop session.
Core Features¶
- Landscape remote control: Rotates the page to suit phone landscape reading, keeps the session list visible, enlarges the main conversation text, and keeps the thinking area compact.
- Input method: Provides symbols, T9 Chinese candidate selection, QWERTY English keyboard, numeric keypad, and controls for deleting, clearing, inserting line breaks, spaces, and switching languages.
- List controls: Supports collapsing or expanding the session list at any time, even in landscape mode.
- Input method details: The candidate bar height is fixed, so switching candidate words does not change the keyboard layout. The first key is “Segmentation,” used to insert a separator; after entering numeric Pinyin, the symbol key becomes a Pinyin combination selector to narrow the candidate scope.
Installation and Activation¶
Run the following commands in a terminal to install the plugin and start Harness Web:
pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add github:zptalk0221-cpu/dsh-remote-desktop
pnpm dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Connect to your computer using a remote desktop app such as UU Remote, then open Harness Web.
- Click the control button in the bottom-right corner of the page.
- Select “Landscape Remote Control” to adjust the page orientation and layout.
- Select “Input Method” to type in Chinese or English. Before typing, make sure the Composer is focused.
- If the remote desktop display orientation is opposite to what you expect, select “Flip Orientation”.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Use cases: Situations where you need to remotely access Harness from a phone to read or input conversations.
- Notes:
- The plugin must be used with a remote desktop app such as UU Remote; it does not provide remote connection services.
- The dictionary is embedded in
lib/client.js, and no contact with Google or dictionary download occurs at runtime. - The plugin is installed as an offline bundle, and Harness upgrades will not overwrite it.
Conclusion¶
By adapting to the remote desktop environment, this plugin addresses layout and input pain points when accessing DeepSeek Harness on mobile. For more information, see the project directory or the GitHub repository.
