DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a modular plugin architecture. When developing or performing routine operations in the Web client, frequently checking subscription quotas or API spend often requires switching between different tabs or menus. dsh-usage-mini aims to solve this problem by providing a floating panel that consolidates key usage data on one side of the screen.

What It Is

This is a lightweight floating dashboard designed specifically for the DeepSeek Harness Web client. It does not handle data collection or account connection; instead, it serves as a visual complement to dsh-cost-meter and dsh-plugin-subscriptions, focusing on keeping key usage information visible in the interface.

Key Features

  1. Subscription and API Monitoring: Supports Claude and Codex subscriptions, displaying available usage windows, used/remaining percentages, reset times, and countdowns. It also displays locally recorded DeepSeek API spend/invocation counts and the upstream-cached official balance.
  2. Language Following: The UI language automatically follows DSH’s global language setting (Chinese/English) without requiring a separate switch.
  3. Interaction and Position Memory: The window is draggable and collapsible, and it automatically remembers its position in the browser.
  4. Data Polling: Data is polled only every 60 seconds while the window is expanded and the page is visible; polling stops when the window is collapsed or hidden to save resources.
  5. Built-in Feedback: A feedback bar at the bottom allows you to submit an Issue directly to GitHub.

Installation and Enablement

  1. Install the plugin
Run the following command to add it to the Web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-usage-mini
  1. Enable the mini window
After installation, restart the DeepSeek Harness Web client, find the “Usage Mini Window” option in Settings, and enable it.

  2. Prerequisites
This plugin depends on the dsh-plugin-subscriptions and dsh-cost-meter plugins to properly retrieve Claude subscription and DeepSeek API data.

Notes

  1. Platform Limitation: Only supports the DeepSeek Harness Web client; it does not support TUI or Headless mode.
  2. Runtime Environment: The validated Node.js version is 22.23.2.
  3. Data Privacy: Does not persist usage data; only persists UI position and collapsed state; does not handle credentials or file access.
  4. Permission Scope: The plugin runs within the permissions of the DSH process and does not include lifecycle scripts or external network requests.

Summary

For users who need to continuously monitor API spend and subscription quotas in the Web client, dsh-usage-mini provides a low-distraction, ready-to-use solution.
