The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem emphasizes pluggability. In agent development, data from completed sessions is often scattered across logs and lacks structured consolidation. The dsh-retro plugin aims to solve this problem by converting goals, feedback, and tool failures from DSH sessions into retrospective drafts, which are then saved to an Obsidian vault after manual review.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-retro is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by StellatoL. Its core functionality is to convert session events into material or suggestions, generate retrospective drafts, support manual review and saving them as notes or experience entries, and includes weekly summaries, rule proposals, and blog integration capabilities.
Core Workflow¶
The plugin provides a clear data flow path:
- Session events → material/suggestions → retrospective drafts → manual review → notes/experience entries
- Weekly summary → rule proposals → manual adoption → skills/AGENTS.md
Installation and Configuration¶
Before installing, ensure the environment meets the requirements: Node.js 22 or later, plugin management with pnpm, and a DeepSeek Harness with a configured model.
Install under the Web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:StellatoL/retro
dsh --profile web --dump-config
dsh web
The --dump-config command outputs the merged configuration. Check whether the output contains id: retro and name: dsh-retro. If running DSH through npx, replace dsh in the commands with npx @deepseek-ai/dsh. Installing from GitHub requires repository access permissions.
After installation, configure the Obsidian vault path in a DSH session:
/retro config vaultPath "D:/Notes/My Vault"
Optional blog integration configuration:
/retro config blogPath "D:/Projects/my-blog"
/retro config blogBaseUrl https://example.com
The environment variables DSH_RETRO_VAULT, DSH_RETRO_BLOG, and DSH_RETRO_BLOG_URL populate the corresponding values if they are still empty after configuration merging.
Common Commands¶
The plugin provides a set of commands to manage the retrospective workflow:
- View queue:
/retro queue - Generate today’s draft:
/retro draft today - Review and save a draft:
/retro review <id> keep - Save an experience entry:
/retro entry keep <id> - Generate weekly summary:
/weekly - Adopt a rule proposal:
/retro adopt <id>
Notes¶
- The current version has been validated for DSH
0.1.2-rc.1regarding tool contracts, host and client loading, CLI installation, and configuration composition. - During installation, personal configuration should be kept separate from the repository’s bundle patch.
- The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process; it is recommended to review the source code and license before installing.
