When developing agent applications based on DeepSeek Harness (DSH), inter-plugin dependencies are often hidden within runtime call chains. When service call chains become complex or unexpected circular dependencies occur, troubleshooting can become very difficult. The following section introduces a tool that can inspect these dependencies in real time.
What Is This¶
sleetdrop/dsh-plugin-topology is a plugin dependency inspector for DeepSeek Harness. It snapshots the real-time Cordis plugin fiber tree into a bipartite plugin/service graph, computes graph-theoretic metrics, and renders them in multiple formats. The plugin maintainer is independent from the official DeepSeek team, but it follows the MIT license.
Installation¶
Use the official installation command to add the plugin to a specified profile:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add @sleetdrop/dsh-plugin-topology
Core Features¶
The plugin includes three main parts:
- Snapshot and Metrics: Snapshots the real-time Cordis plugin fiber tree and computes graph-theoretic metrics, including in-degree/out-degree, degree centrality, betweenness centrality, eigenvector centrality, and PageRank.
- Export Capabilities: Supports exporting dependencies as JSON (NetworkX-compatible), Graphviz DOT, or SVG formats.
- Browser Panel: Provides a visual browser panel that renders a zoomable graph with metrics, a legend, and an unresolved-dependencies table.
Usage¶
Open the Browser Panel¶
The browser panel is triggered by sidebar.footer.action. You can view the global runtime topology without selecting a specific session. The panel is maximized by default.
Export and Serialization¶
On the model side, use the graph.render tool to serialize the plugin dependencies of the current running instance into a document:
* json: Generates a NetworkX-compatible node-link graph. Nodes carry graph-theoretic metrics, and the graph object carries global metrics (density, strongly connected components, etc.).
* dot / svg: Generates Graphviz source code or rendered SVG for sharing or analysis with external tools.
Interaction¶
- View Details: Hover the mouse over a node to view the fiber status, module source code, and plotted in/out degree.
- Direction Highlighting: Use the
deg+ordeg-capsule toggle buttons to highlight dependency edges and target nodes in a specific direction. The rest of the graph is dimmed. This feature is disabled when the dependency degree is 0.
Notes¶
- Independent Versioning: The plugin has its own semantic version (currently 0.5.0) and does not mirror the DeepSeek Harness version. The current version targets DSH 0.2.0-rc.2.
- Internal Dependencies: The plugin needs access to Cordis internal structures (such as
root.registryandroot.reflect.store), which are not part of the stable public API. Before use, ensure the Harness version meets the peerDependencies requirements. - Same-Name Instances: In the displayed graph, same-name plugin instances are merged into a single node, but the node label shows instance creation indices (e.g.,
timer [1,9,23]). In JSON and DOT exports, instances remain unique. - Browser Panel Requirements: The browser panel requires web profile support, and the
--patchoverride applies only to the node side.
Summary¶
dsh-plugin-topology provides a complete view from the macro-level topology to the micro-level fiber status, making it suitable for debugging complex dependencies.
