Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” dsh-plugin-garmin is a domain-specific plugin developed for Garmin Fenix 7 devices. It enables developers to generate watch face designs through natural language conversations, perform local vector simulation preview and Monkey C source code compilation, and ultimately output installable binary files.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following capabilities:
* Conversational watch face generation: describe requirements in natural language, and the Agent automatically generates a watch face design.
* Hardware compliance safeguards: built-in 64-color MIP hardware palette mapping ensures that generated watch faces comply with the display limitations of the Fenix 7.
* Vector simulation preview: provides a high-fidelity 260×260 vector simulator, supporting dynamic preview and night mode.
* Dynamic source code generation: automatically generates production-grade Monkey C source code projects based on design specifications.
* Non-interactive key issuance: automatically generates the developer private key required by Garmin in headless environments.
* One-click compilation and environment diagnostics: integrates the compilation toolchain, supporting direct output of .prg firmware and environment checks.
Installation and Enablement¶
Currently, this plugin only supports installation from source; no npm package has been published yet. The installation process includes two steps: local compilation and mounting into DSH.
- Clone the repository and build the source
git clone https://github.com/RayzPub/dsh-plugin-garmin.git
cd dsh-plugin-garmin
npm install
npm run build
- Mount it into DeepSeek Harness
dsh plugin --profile web add .
(If you need to use it in command line mode, change --profile web to --profile headless.)
Typical Usage¶
After installation, you can interact with the Agent through the Web UI or the Headless command line.
- Interact in the Web UI
Start the Web service:
dsh web
After opening the interactive interface in your browser, you can directly enter natural language commands, for example: “Generate a tactical-style watch face with orange hands, a heart-rate arc, and a battery progress bar”.
- Query and diagnose in the command line
# 查询硬件规格
dsh --profile headless "调用 garmin_specs 工具查询 Fenix 7 的硬件规格"
# 检查编译环境
dsh --profile headless "检查当前系统是否已安装 Garmin Connect IQ SDK、Java 运行环境与开发者私钥"
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Applicable scenarios: Suitable for developers who need to rapidly iterate on Garmin watch face designs, as well as for automation workflows that use AI assistance to generate Monkey C code.
- Environment requirements: Linux environments require Java, OpenSSL, and the
monkeyccompiler to be preinstalled. - Notes: This plugin is an unofficial project and has no official collaboration with Garmin Ltd. Note that only source installation is supported, and the npm package has not been published yet. The project is licensed under the MIT License.
Conclusion¶
dsh-plugin-garmin is a typical application in the DeepSeek Harness ecosystem for hardware development. By standardizing the complex watch face design and compilation workflow through natural language, it lowers the barrier to Garmin development. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
