DeepSeek Harness Web provides basic theme switching. If you need finer-grained color control, or want to provide a unified set of design tokens for third-party plugin development, the Spectrum plugin is a standalone installable solution.

Plugin Positioning

This is a plugin for DeepSeek Harness Web that provides light and dark theme presets, maintained by qipenglin. It offers ten color presets, each with light and dark variants, and is compatible with DSH’s built-in light, dark, and follow-system settings.

Core Features

  • Multiple Color Schemes: Provides ten preset styles, each including light and dark modes.
  • Design Token Support: Provides stable CSS variables for extensions, ensuring visual consistency.
  • Flexible Configuration: Supports switching presets via a YAML configuration file.
  • Full Compatibility: Compatible with DSH’s built-in theme logic and does not override the base layout.

Installation and Activation

Use the official CLI to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:qipenglin/dsh-theme-spectrum

After installation is complete, restart the Web Profile. Spectrum will appear in “Settings → General → Theme Style”.

Typical Usage

After installation, you can select a preset via a YAML configuration file. For example, select the “Graphite” preset and follow the system theme:

ui-theme:
  preference: system
ui-theme-presets:
  preset: graphite

The plugin provides a large number of CSS variables for extensions, such as --dsh-theme-spectrum-surface (window or panel background), --dsh-theme-spectrum-text (primary text), --dsh-theme-spectrum-border (borders), and --dsh-theme-spectrum-accent (accent color).

Use Cases and Notes

  • Global Scope: The preset selection applies globally to the browser profile and does not support isolation by workspace or session.
  • Variable Coverage: The provided CSS variables are mainly used for DSH internal components and Shadow DOM content. Terminal variables only cover the container; specific components such as xterm and Monaco must be handled with their own logic.
  • Compatibility: Spectrum does not scan the DOM, does not apply global !important rules, and does not guarantee that unknown third-party hardcoded UI automatically follows the theme.
  • Security: It is recommended to check the source code and license before installation.

Summary

Spectrum provides rich color choices and design tokens for DSH Web, suitable for users pursuing visual consistency or secondary development.
