Introduction

DeepSeek Harness natively provides web_search and web_fetch, but has limitations regarding long page truncation, binary document responses, and the lack of flexible control. dsh-network aims to resolve these issues by introducing a long-running Node process, replacing the official tools, and providing a more complete network toolkit. This plugin is maintained by NaivG.

Core Features

The plugin provides five model tools and a sidebar search panel. The default search chain is Bing → DuckDuckGo → Baidu. HTTP(S) URLs are converted to Markdown, with support for PDF, Office, and EPUB parsing. RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 (RDF), and Atom 1.0 are converted into Markdown entry lists.

Security is enabled by default: including SSRF validation, IP pinning, private range blocking, and protocol locking. Server-side caching prevents truncation of large responses.

Installation and Enablement

Requires DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0.rc2 or later. Install the package via npm.

Enable web_download in settings. Use the Web Search panel in the sidebar.

Notes

  • Introduces an additional Node process.
  • web_download is disabled by default and must be enabled in settings.
  • File extensions are derived from the payload rather than the URL.
  • Default search chain: Bing → DuckDuckGo → Baidu.

Summary

dsh-network makes DeepSeek Harness’s web capabilities more stable and controllable by replacing the native tools and providing more robust document parsing and security mechanisms. For more details, refer to the plugin directory and GitHub repository.
