Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts an “everything is a plugin” architectural philosophy, allowing users to change client behavior and appearance through extensions. The default Web GUI focuses on functionality but may lack visual personalization. dsh-hu-tao-skin is a plugin designed for such needs. It replaces the interface style with the “Hall of Otherworld” theme of Hu Tao from Genshin Impact, providing an immersive visual experience through layered styles and DOM manipulation without breaking the existing theme logic.
Plugin Positioning¶
- Name: dsh-hu-tao-skin
- Positioning: DeepSeek Harness Web GUI client plugin skin

Core Features¶
This plugin defines an ink-black, crimson, and amber-gold palette using 14 theme tokens and provides an atmosphere layer system.
-
Theme tokens
- Provides both light and dark color schemes.
- Layers the current theme through
theme.overrideTokens(), without modifying the theme registry. It does not override the user’s original theme preferences. - The palette includes an ink-black base color, a crimson primary color, and an amber-gold warning color.
-
Atmosphere layers
- Implemented using the
shell.overlaymounting point. - Includes a golden-dotted plum-blossom pattern background, crimson washes, a plum-blossom watermark in the bottom right, and a vertical “Hall of Otherworld” gold seal on the right side.
- Dynamic effects include 14 falling plum-blossom petals and 3 shimmering butterflies.
- When the system enables “Reduce motion,” the animations are automatically disabled.
- Implemented using the
-
Interaction controls
- Floating toggle: Located at the bottom-left of the conversation area, it can turn the petals and butterflies on or off with one click. The toggle dynamically positions itself by reading the sidebar’s grid width and moves as the sidebar is dragged or collapsed.
- Settings page: Adds a “Hall of Otherworld” section in DSH Settings, with three independent switches: falling plum blossoms, shimmering butterflies, and Hu Tao palette.
-
Other features
- First-view emblem: Replaces the brand icon for empty sessions with a five-petal plum-blossom emblem.
- State persistence: Toggle states are saved in
localStorageand automatically restored after restart. - No build step: The browser-side code is hand-written, requires no compilation, and can be loaded directly.
Installation and Enablement¶
The plugin is distributed as a DSH profile bundle and supports one-click installation or script deployment.
Method 1: Use the deployment script (recommended)¶
After cloning the repository, run the deployment script with PowerShell. The script installs the runtime files into the local plugin directory of the specified profile and modifies the profile’s package.json to establish the dependency relationship.
git clone https://github.com/MistyRain-field/dsh-hu-tao-skin.git
cd dsh-hu-tao-skin
pwsh -File tools/deploy.ps1
The script supports specifying the profile name or directory through parameters:
pwsh -File tools/deploy.ps1 -ProfileName web
pwsh -File tools/deploy.ps1 -ProfileDir 'D:\some\profile'
After installation, you must restart dsh web to load the plugin.
Method 2: Use the DSH command line¶
In the terminal, specify the profile and repository path to add it.
dsh plugin --profile web add <this repository path or git URL>
Method 3: One-click installation from the plugin marketplace¶
If the plugin marketplace is installed, you can install it directly from Settings.
dsh plugin --profile web add dshmarket
Typical Usage¶
After installation and restart, the interface will display the Hu Tao theme.
- Visual experience: Observe the ink-black and crimson color scheme, as well as the falling plum blossoms and shimmering butterflies in the background.
- Interaction test: Drag the left sidebar and observe whether the floating toggle in the bottom left moves smoothly with it.
- Toggle control: Click the floating toggle in the bottom left, or go to Settings -> “Hall of Otherworld” to turn off the petals and butterflies, then observe the interface changes.
- Persistence verification: Close and restart
dsh web, then check the toggle again to confirm that the state is retained.
Notes¶
- Unofficial work: This plugin is a fan-art aestheticization and has no association with miHoYo or DeepSeek.
- Lifecycle: All styles and DOM operations take effect only within the plugin lifecycle and are automatically restored to the default interface after uninstallation.
- System compatibility: On Windows, ensure that the script execution policy allows running PowerShell scripts.
- Motion effects: If the system has “Reduce motion” enabled, the petal and butterfly animations will not run.
Conclusion¶
dsh-hu-tao-skin provides DSH users with a way to experience fan themes without writing code. Through non-invasive overlay styles and dynamic DOM manipulation, it achieves lightweight and reversible interface beautification.
