Preface¶
The native sidebar width in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) web version is a fixed pixel value and has a limited dragging range. Right sidebar panels are isolated per session, so a file panel opened by a parent agent is lost after switching to a child agent session. The dsh-sidebar-ratio plugin takes over width styles and uses the official API to implement panel sharing, without modifying DSH source code.
Core Features¶
Left Sidebar Opens by Window Proportion¶
The left sidebar defaults to 14%, and the right sidebar is optional. You can drag the native handle or use keyboard shortcuts to adjust the ratio directly. The ratio is stored in browser localStorage (key dsh.sidebar-ratio.v1).
Shared Right Sidebar Panels Within the Same Parent Session Group¶
The session lineage is traversed upward to the top level. The same top-level parent session (the top-level session plus all levels of sub-agents) counts as one group. Panels within the group share one panel baseline. You can configure whether to share strictly based on the parent session or use a unified baseline within the group.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install¶
dsh plugin --profile web add github:masknull/dsh-sidebar-ratio
Restart¶
A restart is required after installation.
Configuration¶
Modify the values under config in cordis.patch.yml (restart required after changes):
| Key | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
left |
0.14 |
Left sidebar proportion; null = do not take over the left sidebar |
right |
null |
Right sidebar proportion; null = do not take over the right sidebar |
minLeft |
200 |
Minimum pixel width for the left sidebar |
minRight |
300 |
Minimum pixel width for the right sidebar |
enabled |
true |
Default value for the global width takeover switch |
inherit |
true |
Whether to enable “shared right sidebar within the same top-level parent session group” |
inheritAll |
false |
true = ignore grouping and inherit on any session switch |
inheritFromParent |
false |
Group baseline rule; false = unified within the group, true = strictly based on the parent session |
Usage¶
Shortcuts¶
Alt+←/→: Adjust the left sidebar proportion.Alt+Shift+←/→: Adjust the right sidebar proportion.Alt+0: Toggle the global switch; turning it off returns to native behavior.
Console API¶
// Width
dshSidebarRatio.get() // Current state
dshSidebarRatio.set(0.12) // Left sidebar 12%
dshSidebarRatio.right(0.26) // Right sidebar 26%
dshSidebarRatio.enabled(false) // Temporarily return to native behavior
dshSidebarRatio.native() // Return both sides to native behavior
dshSidebarRatio.reset() // Clear the localStorage record
// Panel inheritance
dshSidebarInherit.get() // Current baseline for each top-level parent session group
dshSidebarInherit.verbose(true) // View capture/replay logs
Known Boundaries¶
- Restart requirement: A restart is required after installation.
- No source modification: Does not modify any source file of deepseek-harness; pure JavaScript.
- Inheritance limitations:
- Only the currently active tab can be inherited.
- Cannot inherit multiple concurrent tabs, splits, floating windows, or modes.
- Cannot inherit parameters such as scroll position inside a tab.
- Effectiveness conditions:
- The left sidebar proportion does not take effect when the sidebar is collapsed or the frame width is
< 1024 px. - The right sidebar proportion does not take effect when the right sidebar has no independent track.
- The left sidebar proportion does not take effect when the sidebar is collapsed or the frame width is
Summary¶
This plugin modifies inline styles at browser runtime to adjust sidebar widths proportionally, and uses the official public API to implement panel inheritance. It is suitable for developers who need fine-grained control over sidebar widths and want parent and child sessions to share right sidebar panels.
