Introduction

The plugin intsig-textin/dsh-plugin-xparse is a TextIn xParse document parsing tool and skill for DeepSeek Harness. It is used to call the TextIn service for document data parsing in the Harness environment.

Installation and Activation

The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile web add @intsig-xparse/dsh-xparse

Before installing, ensure that the environment meets the following requirements:
- DeepSeek Harness version must be 0.1.1-rc.2
- Node.js version must be 22.19 or later
- Supported operating systems: Linux or macOS (x64/arm64)

Core Features

After installation, the plugin provides the xparse Tool, the xparse-parse Skill, and an embedded xparse CLI binary. Supported operations include:

  • parse: Parse a document
  • quota: Query quota
  • get_doc_info: Get document information
  • get_outline: Get outline
  • search_text: Search text
  • read_pages: Read pages
  • read_content: Read content
  • task_run / task_rerun: Submit or rerun a task
  • task_status: Query task status
  • task_read / task_export / task_debug: Read, export, or debug a task
  • task_resume: Resume a task

Usage Instructions

When parsing a document, data is sent to the TextIn service. Results are written as workspace artifacts instead of being returned as long text from the Tool. Task submission or rerun operations immediately return the Task/Run identifier, status, progress counters, and terminal state. Use the compact task_status response to check progress afterwards.

Execution Mechanism

The Tool always executes the binary embedded in the package. It does not depend on PATH, a global xparse-cli, installation scripts, or runtime downloads.

Authentication and Configuration

The plugin configures credentials via browser card in Settings > Plugins > Plugin configuration > TextIn xParse.

  • AppKey: Credentials by default reference the environment variables XPARSE_APP_ID and XPARSE_SECRET_CODE. The App ID is not sensitive and is mirrored into the xparse configuration namespace; the Secret Code is used for write operations and never appears in plugin settings, Tool parameters, or conversations.
  • OAuth: Device login is supported. OAuth access tokens enter the refresh window by default 5 minutes before expiration (oauthRefreshSkewMs: 300000).

When the root Agent invokes a network operation without available credentials, the Tool initiates device OAuth and opens a dedicated login card. The sandbox is authoritative for file access.

Notes

  • Paid authorization: Automatic task routing and reruns are not pre-approved merely because paid capacity may be required. The service first returns waiting_paid_authorization or waiting_funds; approval is requested only for subsequent task_resume operations. One approval covers that Task Run.
  • Security: Do not paste the App ID, Secret Code, OAuth tokens, or document passwords into conversations or Tool calls.
  • Credential requirements: Every network operation requires OAuth or a complete AppKey.
