Introduction

Prompt engineering often involves starting with a rough draft. This plugin addresses the need to convert fragmented requests into structured prompts directly within the DeepSeek Harness WebUI.

Plugin Overview

Name: gaowei-afk/dsh-prompt-polish
Maintainer: gaowei-AFK
License: MIT
Purpose: A DeepSeek Harness WebUI plugin that provides one-click prompt polishing, rewriting rough input into structured, professional prompts.

Installation and Enabling

Install using the official plugin manager:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-prompt-polish

After installation, restart the WebUI to load the plugin.

Core Features

  1. UI Integration: Adds a “✨ Polish” button to the right side of the input toolbar in the DeepSeek Harness WebUI.
  2. Text Rewriting: Rewrites rough, fragmented requests into structured, professional prompts.
  3. Non-destructive: The rewritten text replaces the draft and is not sent automatically. You can review it before sending.

Usage Workflow

  1. Enter a rough request in the input box.
  2. Click the “✨ Polish” button on the right side of the toolbar.
  3. Review and confirm the rewritten text, then send it as usual.

Configuration

The plugin by default calls the configured LLM (usually DeepSeek) to perform the rewrite. If no provider or model is configured, the request is rejected with the error no model route available. The rewrite process has an output token limit (default: 2000). When exceeded, it returns truncated: true.

Notes

  • The polishing process is non-destructive and does not automatically send content.
  • A provider or model must be configured; otherwise, the request is rejected.
  • The endpoint enforces same-origin to prevent cross-site misuse.
  • It depends on peerDependencies: @deepseek-ai/cordis and @deepseek-ai/dsh-llm.

Conclusion

This plugin improves prompt drafting efficiency through simple interactions, making it suitable for developers who frequently need to optimize prompts. For more details, see the Plugin Directory Page or the GitHub Repository.
