DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. During use, developers often need to inspect the file structure of the current session or open a file in an editor. Manually locating paths and running cd is cumbersome and error-prone. The dsh-reveal-explorer plugin solves this by adding action buttons to the session header.

Overview

dsh-reveal-explorer is a DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin maintained by EasyTZ under the MIT license. It adds a feature to DSH: a button in the session header toolbar that opens the current workspace directory using the system default file manager.

Installation and Enabling

Before installing, ensure that your environment meets the following conditions:
* DSH version >= 0.1.1-rc.2
* pnpm is available in the system
* The installation command must specify a profile name (for example, web or tui)

Run the following command to install:

dsh plugin --profile <name> add @easytz/dsh-reveal-explorer

After installation, restart DSH for the changes to take effect. The plugin includes its own dsh.bundle layer, so no manual patching is required.

Usage

Click the “Open in Explorer” button in the session header toolbar. The system will open the current session’s workspace directory using the default file manager.

The tool invoked depends on the operating system:
* Windows: invokes explorer.exe
* macOS: invokes open
* Linux: invokes the default file manager (usually xdg-open)

After switching to a different session, clicking the button again automatically opens the directory bound to that session.

Features and Limitations

  • Directory Detection: If the current session’s workspace directory has been moved or deleted after registration, the plugin detects this before invocation and reports an error instead of pretending the operation succeeded.
  • Windows Compatibility: On Windows, explorer.exe may return a non-zero exit code. The plugin handles this gracefully (it only treats the operation as failed if the process cannot be started).
