In the DSH development and debugging workflow, enabling an agent to access the local file system often involves steps such as uploading, sandbox configuration, or temporary storage. The dsh-doc-quick plugin provides a more direct solution: drag and drop files through the Web interface, and the Agent can directly read and process the contents of local files.

This is a DSH plugin that allows users to drag documents into the Web chat dialog. The host program saves the file to a local directory, and after the Agent reads the file, it displays the processing results and file path in the right sidebar.

Core Features

Drag and Drop Storage

After a user drags a file into the Web chat dialog, the host program saves the file to the ~/.dsh/doc-quick/<sessionId>/ directory and registers a task.

Local File Reading

The plugin allows the host to directly read from the local file system. Supported formats include: PDF, Word (doc/docx), PowerPoint (ppt/pptx), EPUB, Notebook (ipynb), Markdown, and plain text.

Agent Tools

The plugin provides three tools for the Agent:
* doc_list: View the current list of pending tasks.
* doc_read: Read the contents of a specified file.
* doc_complete: Register the processed output back with the plugin system.

Results Sidebar

After processing is complete, a sidebar appears on the right side of the chat interface, displaying task status, a summary, and the output file path. Users can click the link to preview or download the result.

Installation and Enabling

This plugin depends on the DSH Web Profile. The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Entity-Him/dsh-doc-quick

The plugin itself is implemented in pure JavaScript and does not include native or Node-gyp dependencies. PDF parsing loads pdfjs-dist on demand and gracefully degrades if it is unavailable.

Typical Usage

  1. Open the DSH Web chat interface.
  2. Drag the document to be processed (such as a PDF or Markdown file) into the input box.
  3. Issue an instruction to the Agent. The Agent will automatically recognize the attached file and proceed to read and process it.
  4. After the task is complete, the right sidebar will list the output content and file path, supporting direct preview or download.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for scenarios that require quick processing of local documents in a Web environment. Before using it, ensure that you are currently using the DSH Web Profile (the sidebar is a Web client UI).

  • Dependency Environment: The Web Profile must be enabled.
  • File Processing: PDF parsing depends on pdfjs-dist; it may fail to parse if the environment is not configured.
  • License: MIT License.
  • Ecosystem Affiliation: This plugin is included in the DSH ecosystem directory and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek / Huanfang.

Summary

dsh-doc-quick injects local file system read and write capabilities into DSH Web chat as a plugin. Combined with the results displayed in the right sidebar, it reduces the interaction cost of document processing. More details and source code can be found on the project homepage.
