Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem supports deep customization for specific scenarios. When building agent applications, task-level interruptions, network jitter, or routine low-risk issues often require manual intervention, which significantly increases maintenance costs. dsh-continue is a DeepSeek Harness plugin focused on solving task-level recovery and safe unattended continuation. It combines deterministic recovery, precise adaptive network learning, and task-scoped configuration injection, aiming to allow routine low-risk issues to proceed without real-time manual monitoring.
Plugin Positioning¶
dsh-continue is an optional DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by JuwanXu under the MIT License.
The core problem it solves is: after model retries and basic network recovery, how to safely and deterministically continue a task. It does not replace generic model error retries, but acts as a task-level continuation layer, handling decision-making after network failures, confirmation of recommended options, and automatic exit from Plan Mode.
Core Capabilities¶
The plugin provides the following verified features:
- Safe unattended continuation: Provides a safe task continuation mechanism, ensuring that privileged or irreversible operations are not executed in an unattended state.
- Deterministic recovery: Provides a deterministic network recovery strategy after downstream retries.
- Precise adaptive learning: Supports precise network failure learning based on provider, model, and error-code.
- Task-scoped configuration injection: Supports injecting isolated policy configuration for individual tasks, with the configuration overriding global defaults.
- Narrow automation: Restricts automation to specific scenarios, including selection of a unique recommended answer, binary continuation prompts, valid Plan Mode exit, and plain-text continuation.
- Control and memory: Supports pause/resume control, persistence of activity and learning events, project-scoped decision memory (with task-scoped fallback), and verifiable manual decision provenance.
- Safety boundaries: Configures retry budgets and sets fail-closed safety boundaries.
- Advisory-only mode: Continuation candidates are provided only as recommendations and are not directly executed.
Installation and Activation¶
Installing the plugin does not automatically change any task interaction, retry, learning, or approval behavior. All executable features are disabled by default. After installation, they need to be enabled manually through configuration or commands.
The installation command is as follows:
dsh plugin --profile <profile-name> add dsh-continue
After installation, the relevant feature modules need to be enabled in the configuration file, or immediate overrides can be performed via task commands.
Typical Usage¶
Using Presets¶
The plugin provides three preset configurations for quickly enabling a set of features:
/continue preset recommended
/continue preset resilient
/continue preset unattended-safe
| Preset Name | Enabled Features |
|---|---|
recommended |
Enables selection of a unique recommended answer |
resilient |
Enables temporary network recovery and recommended answer selection |
unattended-safe |
Enables the above features, and adds binary continuation confirmation, valid Plan Mode exit, and plain-text continuation |
Configuration and Commands¶
Control is performed through the /continue command set. The following are examples of common commands:
# View current status
/continue status
# Manually set configuration (JSON object)
/continue set {"network":{"enabled":true},"recommended":{"enabled":true}}
# Disable the plugin's impact on the current task
/continue off
# Reset to global default configuration
/continue reset
# Pause automated control (supports time units)
/continue pause [<Nms|Ns|Nm|Nh>]
/continue resume
# View explanations for recent decisions
/continue explain
# Manage the learning mechanism
/continue learn <on|off|status>
/continue learn candidates
/continue learn approve <candidate-id>
/continue learn forget <record-id|--all>
Global Configuration Example¶
Set global default values in cordis.patch.yml:
- id: continue
config:
defaults:
network:
enabled: true
mode: bounded
maxRetries: 5
recommended:
enabled: true
continuation:
enabled: false
The priority rule is: task session override > plugin global defaults > built-in values.
Usage Notes¶
- Disabled by default: After installation, each executable capability is disabled by default. It must be explicitly enabled through configuration or commands.
- Input handling: The plugin does not use an LLM to guess the meaning of questions or errors. Unknown, ambiguous, risky, or unverified inputs are delegated to the official UI for handling.
- Permission control: The plugin never approves privileged or irreversible operations.
- Coordination with dsh-camel: The plugin does not handle
RATE_LIMITerrors; this functionality is handled bydsh-camel. IfRATE_LIMIThandling is needed in Continue, it must be explicitly added in the configuration, which will trigger overlap warnings for all weights. - Network recovery scope: The network codes handled internally by the plugin are
TIMEOUT,TRANSPORT, andSERVER. The handling logic for other codes (such asRATE_LIMIT) must be coordinated based on the plugins the project depends on (such asdsh-camel).
Ecosystem Background¶
The DSH philosophy is “everything is a plugin.” The plugin ecosystem is independent of any official relationship with DeepSeek or Huanfang and is maintained by the community. For more plugin details and source code, you can visit the plugin catalog:
