Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin architecture and supports expanding model sources through local gateways. If you have subscription quota for CodeBuddy, TRAE SOLO CN, or Qoder CN, but want to build agents in dsh, the dsh-tap plugin connects these services to dsh’s conversation selector through a local loopback gateway and provides a unified tool management entry point.

What Is This

This is an unofficial upstream plugin package maintained by taikaikaikai-pixel, licensed under MIT. It does not include accounts; it only bridges your own subscription and API key to dsh. The plugin starts a local loopback gateway (streaming bridge or OpenAI translation gateway) that centralizes credential handling for main chat and tool requests. Credentials are stored locally only and are never sent back to the browser.

Core Features

  • Multi-channel integration: Access subscription quota for CodeBuddy (Tencent), TraeWork CN (ByteDance), and Qoder CN (Alibaba), plus 7 key-based OpenAI-compatible upstream services (Volcengine, Alibaba Cloud Bailian, DeepSeek, etc.).
  • Local gateway: A local loopback gateway (streaming bridge / OpenAI translation gateway) that listens on 127.0.0.1.
  • Tool integration: Built-in web search and web scraping tools, and an image generation tool.
  • Control and metering: Per-model reasoning intensity adjustment, an OpenAI-compatible upstream registry, and usage metering.
  • Technical traits: Pure ESM and no build step.

Installation and Enabling

  1. Install the plugin: Run the following command in a terminal or command line.
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-tap
  1. Restart the process: Restart the dsh process to apply changes (for desktop hosts, quit and restart the desktop app).
  2. Open the settings card: In the sidebar, go to Plugins → Plugin Manager → dsh-tap to open the settings card.
  3. Log in with credentials: Sign in in the Credentials group of the corresponding channel section.

Typical Usage

  • Get models: In the settings card, for each channel’s Models group, click Sync Directory to manually pull the model list (by default, it syncs automatically on startup).
  • Enable tools: In the CodeBuddy section, enable the web_search or image_generate tool.
  • Switch transport mode: In the TraeWork CN section, click the Chat Transport Mode dropdown to switch between agent, remote, and inline (note that the inline transport mode is currently experiencing a server-side 3003 error).

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Applicable scenarios: Users who have dsh installed and want to use their existing CodeBuddy / TRAE SOLO CN / Qoder CN subscription quota for agent development.
  • Security: Credentials are stored only on the local machine in ~/.dsh/*-plugin-auth.*; API keys only send sanitized data; the local gateway listens only on the loopback address.
  • Known limitations:
    • The plugin is an unofficial upstream package and is only meaningful when installed into dsh.
    • dsh’s built-in “Get available models” never works with this gateway (the CodeBuddy gateway does not have an OpenAI-style GET /models endpoint).
    • TraeWork CN’s inline transport mode is experiencing a server-side 3003 error (since 2026-08).
    • A tier entry that does not error does not necessarily mean a higher tier thinks more; it should not be used as an intensity knob.

Conclusion

This plugin uses a local gateway to integrate third-party subscription quota into the dsh ecosystem in a unified way. It is suitable for developers who already have subscription resources. For more details, see GitHub or the plugin catalog.
