When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) for development or interaction, the default submission by the Enter key can interfere with multi-line input. This plugin intercepts keyboard events and changes the submission shortcut to Ctrl/Cmd+Enter, while preserving the Enter line-break behavior.
dsh-ctrl-enter-submit is a DSH plugin in the model inference category, maintained by developer SA1992X, and released under the MIT License. It applies to all input controls in the main dialog and the Agent question card (ask_user_question).
Core Features¶
- Change submission shortcut: Change the default Enter submission to Ctrl/Cmd+Enter.
- Global coverage: Cover all input controls in the main dialog and the Agent question card.
- Enable/disable control: Can be enabled or disabled anytime under “Settings → Plugins”; disabling restores the default behavior.
- Implementation: Intercepts the
keydownevent ondocumenton the browser side.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installation command

Enable and disable
- In the DSH Web interface, go to “Settings → Plugins”.
- Find the
ctrl-enter-submitplugin and switch it on or off with the toggle. - Refresh the browser page to apply the change.
The plugin is implemented purely on the client side, so no service restart is required after installation or modification.
Behavior Description¶
After enabling the plugin, keyboard behavior is as follows:
- Enter: Line break in multiline fields; no action in single-line fields / option buttons.
- Ctrl/Cmd+Enter: Submit the message/answer/next question (valid in all cases).
- Shift+Enter: Line break in multiline fields.
After disabling the plugin, the native DSH behavior is restored: Enter submits, Shift+Enter creates a line break.
Exceptions
- IME composition states are not intercepted.
- When a menu triggered by
/or@is open, Enter still selects the menu item normally. - It does not take over when the input field is not editable.
Notes¶
- Version requirement: Requires dsh web 0.1.0-rc.6 or later.
- Platform support: Supports Windows, macOS, and Linux; both Ctrl and Cmd keys are recognized.
This plugin uses a purely client-side approach to resolve shortcut conflicts, making it suitable for users who need to flexibly switch between multi-line input and quick submission. You can refer to the source code and directory via the links below.
