DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a plugin-based platform. When developing or using agents, writing clear, structured prompts may require repeated refinement or may easily omit critical context. The dsh-prompt-enhancer plugin adds a “✨ Enhance” button to the editor toolbar, automatically rewrites prompts using first principles, and guides the user to supplement missing critical information.

It is maintained by yaoshuo530 and belongs to the model inference category. It is located on the right side of the DSH editor toolbar, aiming to improve prompt quality through a structured thinking process.

Core Features

  1. One-Click Enhancement: Provides a “✨ Enhance” button on the right side of the editor toolbar.
  2. First-Principles Methodology: Follows the process: Think (return to essentials) → Plan (decompose structure) → Execute (organize expression) → Review (check coherence).
  3. Context Awareness: Automatically reads the current session’s system prompt, memory, skill injection, and recent conversation history.
  4. Clarification Card: When the model determines that critical information is missing, it displays a card with option buttons, free-text input, and a cancel function for the user to respond.
  5. Preview Before Applying: First displays the enhanced prompt for preview; content is written to the editor only after clicking “Apply to input”, and it will not be sent automatically.
  6. Native DSH Appearance: Uses a blue button with white text, reusing the DSH send button theme tokens.
  7. No Configuration Required: Automatically uses the current session’s model routing, with thinking mode disabled.

Installation and Activation

The installation process must be performed in the DSH Web configuration directory.

  1. Clone or copy the repository to a local path, for example ~/dsh-plugins/dsh-prompt-enhancer.
  2. Edit the package.json in the DSH Web configuration directory (~/.dsh/profiles/web/):
    - Append to dependencies:
     "dsh-prompt-enhancer": "link:/absolute/path/to/dsh-prompt-enhancer"
  • Append to cordis.patch.yml:
     - insert:
         - name: dsh-prompt-enhancer
  1. Run pnpm install in the ~/.dsh/profiles/web/ directory.
  2. Restart dsh web and refresh the page. The button will appear in the editor toolbar.

Typical Usage

  1. Enter a draft prompt in the editor, for example Write a weekly summary report.
  2. Click the “✨ Enhance” button on the right.
  3. If the model determines that critical information is missing, a clarification card will pop up (for example asking “What was completed this week?” or “Who is the target audience?”). After selecting or entering an answer, click “Generate”.
  4. Review the enhanced prompt preview, then click “Apply to input” to write it into the editor. Then edit and send it.

Notes

  • The output language follows the input language.
  • The editor is updated only after clicking Apply; messages will not be sent automatically.
  • Required environment: DSH Web, Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.
