Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is designed for building agents. Precise prompts are the key to controlling model behavior. In a Web chat interface, user input is often colloquial, fragmented, or even contains typos, and sending it directly can easily cause the model to misinterpret the intent. Manually rewriting it every time is inefficient.

The plugin dsh-prompt-enchant is introduced below. It adds a Four-Cornered Sparkle Star Magic Wand button to the input box in the DSH Web interface. After clicking it, the plugin makes a separate LLM call to enhance colloquial input into a more precise and structured expression, then refills the input box for human confirmation.

Plugin Overview

Plugin Name: dsh-prompt-enchant
Maintainer: Kian-Oraish
License: MIT
Core Value: Integrates “prompt enchantment” capability into the input flow, allowing users to obtain more professional instruction expressions without leaving the chat interface.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:

  1. Independent LLM-call enhancement: The enhancement process is completed by the plugin through independent LLM calls. It does not modify the Agent’s own system prompt, nor does it affect context injection for the current conversation.
  2. Dual-mode persona foundation: Provides two personas, “General” and “Design”. In the left navigation bar of the DSH settings backend, a top-level entry named “Prompt Enchant Wand” appears, supporting mode switching and persistent saving.
  3. Mode suggestion mechanism: When the input is detected to be more suitable for “Design” mode, a suggestion bar appears above the input box. It supports one-click switching and automatically reruns the enhancement with the new mode.
  4. Safety and reference protection: Supports verbatim preservation of @ mention markers and has injection-protection capabilities. In certain DSH versions, drafts containing @ references disable the enhancement button to prevent damage to reference integrity.
  5. Modal confirmation: For missing elements that the model cannot infer (such as unfilled parameters), the plugin triggers a modal confirmation. After each question is completed, it reruns the enhancement, ensuring that no pending-confirmation markers remain in the output.

Installation and Enablement

Installation uses a disk-resident method. The install script automatically creates a symbolic link and registers the combined configuration.

  1. Clone the repository locally:
    git clone https://github.com/Kian-Oraish/dsh-prompt-enchant.git
    cd dsh-prompt-enchant
  1. Run the install script:
    ./install.sh
The script symlinks the plugin directory into the DSH configuration directory and registers the plugin in the configuration file.
  1. Restart DSH:
The DSH process (the dsh process serving the Web interface) must be restarted for the changes to take effect. Refreshing the browser is not sufficient to load the new client code.

Typical Usage

After installing and restarting DSH, the workflow is as follows:

  1. Enter a colloquial requirement in the input box (for example: “Draw a cyberpunk-style cat for me, with rain in the background”).
  2. Click the Four-Cornered Sparkle Star Magic Wand button in the bottom-right corner of the input box.
  3. The plugin automatically enhances the input and refills the input box with the result.
  4. Human confirmation and editing: Review the enhanced content and modify details as needed.
  5. Click Send.

Notes

  1. Version requirement: The plugin requires DSH version >= 0.1.6-alpha.0.
  2. Restart mechanism: After modifying core files such as lib/client.js, DSH must be restarted for the changes to take effect. Refreshing the browser has no effect.
  3. Privacy and security: The plugin uses no API keys and no telemetry. Input data stays only within the local DSH process. It registers only loopback HTTP routes on the local machine and does not monitor external interfaces.
  4. Compatibility: In versions such as DSH 0.1.6-alpha.2, for inputs containing @ references, the enhancement button is disabled to protect reference integrity.

Summary

dsh-prompt-enchant solves the transformation from colloquial input to structured instructions through a simple button interaction. It provides mode switching, safety protection, and intelligent completion, making it suitable for developers and users who need frequent, precise interactions with LLMs.
