When building or migrating agent workflows, accumulated configurations (MCP servers, skills, global instructions) are often difficult to reuse directly. As a plugin-based architecture, DeepSeek Harness (DSH) needs to adapt assets from existing environments (such as OpenAI Codex CLI / Desktop). Manually migrating them directly is not only cumbersome but also prone to missing details.
codex2dsh is a DSH plugin maintained by BigBlueBaby. It migrates Codex’s MCP servers, skills, global configurations, and memory into DSH-compatible forms.
Core Features¶
- Visual Migration Panel: Provides a graphical interface for viewing status, selecting migration items, and performing operations.
- MCP Mirror Generation: Parses Codex MCP server configurations and generates mergeable YAML files.
- Skill Conversion: Converts Codex skill files into DSH format.
- Global Instruction Adaptation: Adapts global instruction files such as
AGENTS.md. - Memory Migration and Import: Migrates Codex memory and supports importing it into the
dsh-mnemonengine. - Session Import and Title Backfilling: Imports session history and repairs potentially lost title information.
- Workspace Grouping: Organizes non-workspace sessions and groups them consistently.
- Migration Health Check: Checks migration status and asset integrity.
Installation¶
Install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add codex2dsh
After installation, restart DSH and find the Codex Migration panel under Settings → Plugins.
Typical Usage¶
Visual Operation¶
- Open Settings → Plugins.
- Find the Codex Migration tab.
- Use the panel for visual operations: view status, preview, or run the migration.
Command-Line Operation¶
codex2dsh preview # 预览可迁移资产
codex2dsh mcp --apply # 执行 MCP 迁移
codex2dsh doctor # 检查迁移状态
Notes¶
- Source Safety: The source is read-only; Codex configurations are not modified.
- Key Handling: Keys are migrated as-is by default (masking is available). Do not commit them to public repositories.
- Execution Strategy: Defaults to dry-run preview; run only after confirmation.
- Configuration Merging: MCP server configurations must be manually merged into the profile.
- Environment Requirement: Only Node.js >= 22.13 is supported.
Summary¶
This plugin provides a seamless asset migration path from Codex to DSH, making it suitable for developers who need to preserve existing configurations.
