The Blue Whale Maid desktop pet plugin helps you monitor task status and estimate costs by displaying a visual desktop pet in the bottom-right corner of the webpage.

This is a desktop pet plugin installed in the bottom-right corner of DSH Web, maintained by yuxino. It mainly addresses status reminders and cost monitoring during task execution.

Core Features

The plugin has the following features:

  • Status tracking and reminders: It stays in the bottom-right corner of DSH Web. When a task starts, it follows the busy state. It reminds you when confirmation is needed, when a task ends, or when it fails.
  • Cost estimation: It displays estimated costs.
  • Interaction and display: Its position can be dragged. Click to wave, double-click to jump. It shows DeepSeek balance, today’s spending, and session spending.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, make sure the environment meets the following requirements:

  • Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0
  • pnpm
  • An available DeepSeek Harness Web profile

Run the following command to install the plugin:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:yuxino/dsh-blue-whale-maid

After installation, you need to restart DSH Web to activate the plugin:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

Typical Usage

  1. Check status: When a task starts, the maid follows the busy status. When it is your turn to confirm, when the task ends, or when a failure occurs, she reminds you.
  2. Interaction: A single click makes her wave, and a double click makes her jump.
  3. Monitor costs: Click the balance button nearby to view your DeepSeek balance, today’s spending, and the spending details for the current session.

Notes

  • API Key security: The API Key is read by the DSH server and is not passed to the browser; the desktop pet interface only accesses local services.
  • Cost estimation accuracy: “Estimated spending today” is estimated based on the local balance change for the day and is not an official bill.
  • Session cost calculation: “Used in this session” only counts official DeepSeek models with a clearly known source and pricing.
  • Key configuration: The balance and cost panel requires DEEPSEEK_API_KEY configuration; without a Key, the desktop pet and task reminders still work normally.
