Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides basic capabilities for multi-agent collaboration, but in real-world development, sessions often lack a visualized topology, an explicit debate workflow, and a final decision closure. The RoundTable plugin aims to transform a single DSH session into a visualizable, debatable, and decisive meeting process.

Feature Overview

Meeting Organization

The plugin adds a “RoundTable” tab to the session view and uses a visualized topology to display the meeting structure.
* Visualized topology: The host anchor is on the left, ring-shaped expert nodes are on the right, and a convergence gateway is in the center. Connecting lines include directional arrows and support drag-to-create, bidirectional channel toggling, and deletion.
* Persistent sub-agents: Each expert is an independent, resumable sub-agent with a global collaboration charter (objectives, role boundaries, protocols, red lines), and can be assigned models from different vendors.
* Vendor logos and status: Expert avatars display real vendor logos (such as DeepSeek / GLM / Kimi, etc.); unlisted vendors fall back to color blocks. A breathing-light effect appears on node edges during work. Statuses include “Working / Idle / Ready / Unwoken / Host unreachable / Exited”.
* Canvas legend: The top-left corner shows legend semantics for the current mode (such as the difference between “skeleton channels” and actual flows) and can be toggled on or off.

Collaboration and Debate

  • Dual collaboration modes: Supports “host coordination” (everything is relayed through the host) and “multi-model equality” (experts directly debate with each other; auto-mute when over budget). Switchable on the settings page.
  • Convergence gateway: All statements are merged through deterministic structured consolidation; the host can pull summaries with one click, avoiding context overload.
  • Agent thinking and human decision-making: Black-box models (such as video generation) display a transparent thinking chain. When experts disagree or a decision is needed, the meeting is paused and the host initiates a decision card for humans to choose option A/B or provide custom input.

Adversarial Review

This is a review workflow for finalized proposals.
* Process and three-state stance: First round reviewPass=1. Red-team experts only point out flaws. In the review dialog, each viewpoint is an independent card supporting three-state toggling: “Approve / Reject / Cancel”. Rejection requires a mandatory reason.
* Evidence tiering and closed-loop re-review: Viewpoints display evidence by type (code-related includes reproducible steps; design-related includes reasoning chains). Review can be performed for up to 3 rounds (first round + up to 2 re-reviews); exceeding the limit requires explicit user approval.
* Export and splitting: Supports exporting review records in Markdown. Expert statements can be automatically split into multiple independent viewpoints, with dimension labels and original-text citations.

Cost and State

  • Budget circuit breaker: Supports dual budgets for rounds and tokens; automatic “mute” when exceeded. The token count is a rough estimate of statement volume (Chinese approximately 0.6 tokens/character), excluding system prompts and history overhead, and is not equal to the actual billing.
  • KB digest cache: KB files read by the host are recorded with digests (kb-digest.json); on a hit, it is marked with [HIT], avoiding repeated reads.
  • Persistent storage: Meeting state is written to disk under <workspace>/.roundtable/<meetingId>/, including metadata, statement records, review records, etc.; topology and history can be restored after restart.

Meeting Settings and Skills

  • Settings confirmation: Before a meeting starts, a dialog confirms the expert list, collaboration mode, budget, etc. Users can modify them directly in the dialog, and the meeting is created only after confirmation.
  • Skill integration: Supports discovering Skills from DSH’s native ctx.skills directory. Skill selection is frozen when the meeting is created, supporting two delivery methods: “host relay” and “expert direct invocation”.

Role Presets and Lineups

  • Role presets: Supports building role templates (name, description, model) and global preference management.
  • Lineup presets: Supports building lineups (combinations of multiple experts). Apply with one click from the right-side panel; the boundary is strictly limited to “who attends the meeting” and does not include connections or workflow.

UI and Reliability

  • Fixes: Resolved compatibility issues such as tab/settings page disappearing and silent crash errors, and introduced regression-prevention gates.
  • Actions: Supports adding/removing experts, one-click filling from role presets, right-panel toggling, KB browsing, meeting deletion, and workspace interoperability toggling.

Installation and Enablement

Ensure DeepSeek Harness 0.2.0-rc.2+ is installed. v1.0.0-rc.2 is the host-adapted version, which refactored the settings service and message source mapping; older host versions are no longer supported.

Use the official installation command:

dsh plugin --profile web add @y9931666/dsh-plugin-roundtable@next

After installation, restart DSH (close the window and restart it). After refreshing the Web UI, you can see the “RoundTable” option on the settings page and load default values.

Note:
* The package name is @y9931666/..., not @huanlin/... mentioned in historical docs.
* The current version is a prerelease and must be installed with @next. It can be omitted after the stable release.
* The host preference location has changed to self-managed (<DSH_HOME>/roundtable/preferences.).

Typical Usage

  1. Raise the topic: Propose a topic requiring decision or argumentation in the session.
  2. Organize the meeting: The host node invokes expert nodes, uses connections to organize collaboration paths, and aggregates viewpoints through the convergence gateway.
  3. Handle disagreement: If expert opinions conflict, the system returns decision authority to humans, allowing users to make final decisions or specify modification directions.
  4. Adversarial review: Enable review for a finalized proposal; red-team experts point out flaws, users approve/reject, with up to 3 closed-loop re-review rounds.

Use Cases and Notes

This plugin is suitable for DSH workflow scenarios that require multi-party collaboration, multi-directional debate, or strict review workflows. Note that the plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions; it is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.

Summary

The RoundTable plugin elevates DSH conversational capabilities into a structured decision-making tool through topology visualization, dual-mode collaboration, budget control, and adversarial review.
