Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, allowing any developer to extend dsh web. When working with extremely long conversations, historical messages are often compacted or not fully loaded, making it difficult to locate previously sent content. The dsh-history plugin is designed to solve this problem.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by startnewlabs and belongs to the “Memory” category. It can list all messages you have sent in the current session, including old pages that have not yet been loaded into the conversation window and historical records covered by compaction.

Core Features

  1. List all sent messages: Includes unloaded or compacted historical records.
  2. One-click locate: After clicking a message, the system automatically loads earlier history, waits for page rendering, smoothly scrolls, and highlights it with a flash—no manual operations required.
  3. Sort toggle: Latest first by default, with one-click switching between “latest first / oldest first”.
  4. Search filter: Filters the list in real time by message text.
  5. One-click copy: A copy button is provided on the right side of each row; click it to copy the full message text.
  6. Quick startup: When entering a session, the plugin prefetches the complete list in the background, so the panel opens instantly.

Installation and Enablement

Prerequisite: DSH is installed, and dsh web runs properly.

# 1. Install the plugin
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-history@latest

# 2. Run the restart script to activate the plugin
bash ~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules/dsh-history/restart-dsh-web.sh

After installation, “My Messages (N)” will appear above the input box of each session automatically; no manual operation is needed.

Typical Usage

  1. Click “My Messages (N)” above the input box (N is the total number of messages you have sent in the current session).
  2. Use the search box to filter message text.
  3. Click the copy button on the right to copy the message text.
  4. Check the status label for each message row:
    - Locatable (green): The message is already in the current conversation window; clicking it scrolls and locates it automatically.
    - Not loaded (gray): The message is in earlier history; clicking it loads and locates it automatically.
    - Locating… (yellow): It is loading or waiting for rendering to locate the message.

Notes

  1. The plugin requires DSH (dsh web must run properly) as its runtime environment.
  2. After installation, you must run the restart-dsh-web.sh script to restart the service for the plugin to take effect.
  3. If “My Messages” is not visible after installation, confirm that the service has been restarted and check whether the plugin has been correctly added to the bundle.
  4. The plugin is compatible with DSH 0.1.5.
  5. The “missing peer” warning during installation can be safely ignored; DSH runtime already provides the required dependencies.

Conclusion

The dsh-history plugin solves the pain point of finding and locating history in long sessions by listing all sent messages and providing one-click location. If you frequently need to review or reference your own messages in long conversations, this plugin can significantly improve operational efficiency.
