Introduction

When developing with DeepSeek Harness or performing routine operations, it is often necessary to temporarily record ideas, to-do items, or sensitive information. The dsh-sticky-notes plugin integrates sticky-note functionality directly into the client interface, providing zero-latency local note management and avoiding frequent context switching.

Plugin Positioning

This plugin is maintained by zmm863-commits and is a client plugin designed to provide a fast, real-time note-taking service. It uses local optimistic updates to ensure operations have no perceptible latency, and it supports persistent data storage.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core capabilities:

  • Color Tags and Categories
    • 🔴 Red (Urgent): For tasks and notifications. After adding, a time picker automatically pops up to set a reminder.
    • 🔵 Blue (Regular): For daily reminders; saved immediately.
    • 🟡 Yellow (Important): For important content. After adding, a password setup dialog automatically pops up.
  • Scheduled Reminders: Set a future time. When triggered, it displays a bell animation and plays a beep.
  • Sticky Note Pinning: Supports pinning important notes to keep them visible.
  • Two-Layer Password Protection
    • Vault Password: When entering Settings → 📝 Paopao Cat’s Instant Sticky Notes to view all notes, a three-digit PIN code must be entered (stored in browser localStorage).
    • Per-Note Password: Yellow notes have independent three-digit passwords. The content is hidden until unlocked.
  • Interaction Experience: The note window supports dragging. After closing and reopening it, its position remains unchanged.

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-sticky-notes

After installation, refresh the browser page to apply it. There is no need to restart the DSH process.

Usage

  1. Click the 📝 button on the left side of the dialog toolbar.
  2. The note window pops up. Enter content, then press Enter or click “Add”.
  3. Select a color:
    • Red: A time picker automatically pops up to set a reminder.
    • Blue: A regular note, saved immediately.
    • Yellow: A password setup automatically pops up to protect sensitive content.
  4. View and manage all notes under Settings → 📝 Paopao Cat’s Instant Sticky Notes.

Technical Architecture

  • Host Side: Provides the HTTP API /api/paopaocat-notes (registered through webServer.register). Data is persistently stored in /dsh/paopaocat-notes.json.
  • Client Side: Uses React components in the __ModuleLoader__ format. The UI is registered into the main interface via slots.inject.
  • Compatibility: Supports both Web and Desktop versions of DSH.
  • Permissions: Requires the browser:local-storage and ui:inject permissions.
