Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) aims to provide complete environment support for agent development. In multi-GPU scenarios, developers need to monitor hardware status in real time to debug performance bottlenecks or VRAM usage. Existing monitoring solutions usually require additional terminal windows or external tools. dsh-gpu-pulse is a DSH Web UI plugin that directly renders the output of nvidia-smi as a strip floating in a page corner, providing real-time status for each GPU without additional services.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-gpu-pulse is a GPU monitoring component embedded in the DSH Web UI. By invoking the host machine’s nvidia-smi tool, it provides clients with each GPU’s utilization, memory usage, temperature, power consumption, and information about the process with the highest VRAM usage. This component is maintained by zhubaohi and is licensed under the MIT License.
Core Features¶
- Real-time data display: Displays each GPU’s utilization, VRAM, temperature, and power consumption.
- Position persistence: The strip is draggable, and its position is saved in browser local storage, remaining unchanged after refresh or restart.
- Process monitoring: Lists the process with the highest VRAM usage (requires driver support).
- Status indicators: Displays green, amber, or red status based on thresholds.
- Basic information: Displays the driver version and last sample timestamp.
Installation and Enabling¶
- Install using the DSH plugin command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhubaohi/dsh-gpu-pulse
- Restart the
dsh webservice. - After installation, the strip appears in the bottom-right corner of the page. You can drag it to adjust its position, and double-click to reset it to the default corner.
Configuration¶
The plugin is available by default. If you need to adjust the monitoring frequency or behavior, you can override parameters in the configuration file. For example:
- id: dsh-gpu-pulse
config:
pollMs: 3000 # 轮询间隔,默认 2000ms
showProcesses: true # 是否显示显存占用最高的进程
nvidiaSmiPath: 'nvidia-smi' # nvidia-smi 路径
Use Cases and Limitations¶
- Environment requirements: The host machine must have NVIDIA drivers installed, and
nvidia-smimust be available in PATH. - GPU support: Only NVIDIA discrete GPUs are supported. Intel UHD or AMD integrated graphics will not be displayed.
- Dependency versions: Node.js >= 18 and dsh web 0.1.0-rc.6+ are required.
- Driver limitations:
nvidia-smiis a read-only tool. If drivers are not installed, the UI will displayGPU n/aand retry every 5 minutes.
Conclusion¶
By integrating monitoring tools into the DSH Web UI, this plugin reduces the burden on developers of switching windows. Through configurations such as pollMs and showProcesses, it can adapt to different monitoring frequencies and requirements. Project source code and documentation details are available on GitHub.
