Preface

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing or running agents locally, managing the dsh service process usually requires opening a console window or running command-line instructions. zhqowo/dsh-whale-tray (commonly known as “Fat Fish”) is a standalone launcher plugin that provides a tray icon for Windows and a menu bar icon for macOS, enabling quick start/stop of the service and status monitoring.

Core Features

This plugin provides a desktop-level interaction entry point. Its core capabilities are as follows:
* Cross-platform icons: Displayed in the system tray on Windows and in the menu bar on macOS.
* Service control: Supports starting, stopping, and restarting the DeepSeek Harness (dsh) service.
* Launch Web UI: Clicking the icon launches the Web interface.
* Standalone operation: Independent from the dsh process and does not consume resources from the main dsh process.
* Other operations: Supports auxiliary functions such as top-up and billing redirects.

Installation and Activation

In a DSH-compatible environment (such as the Web Profile), run the following command to install:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:zhqowo/dsh-whale-tray

Typical Usage

After installation, operate according to the operating system:
* Windows: Double-click the compiled executable file (e.g., 大肥鱼.exe); the icon will appear in the system tray.
* macOS: Enter the source directory and run the build script, then place the generated .app into ~/Desktop/大肥鱼.app.
* Launch Web UI: Windows requires the accompanying browser extension (for switching background tabs); macOS can launch directly through AppleScript, without an extension.

Notes

  • macOS permissions: The macOS version requires TCC permissions. On first launch, right-click and select “Open,” or run xattr -d com.apple.quarantine 大肥鱼.app in the terminal to remove the quarantine attribute.
  • Windows extension: Launching the Web interface requires installing the accompanying browser extension to switch tabs in the background.
  • Configuration: All configuration options are optional; the default values are suitable for standard DeepSeek environments.
