Introduction

The plugin-based architecture of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) makes system extension flexible. However, operational aspects such as device health monitoring, restart pressure assessment, and maintenance scheduling often require dedicated logic. The dsh-health-scheduler plugin is designed to address these needs, transforming observed data into executable action decisions.

What Is It

This is a workflow plugin for DeepSeek Harness. It provides device/runtime health monitoring, restart pressure scoring, maintenance scheduling, and action decisions. The plugin is maintained by user zhiheng-zhang-Mera and is licensed under the MIT License.

Core Features

The plugin focuses on state awareness and decision-making. Its core capabilities include:

  • Device/runtime health monitoring: Collects and analyzes device operational status and health metrics.
  • Restart pressure scoring: Normalizes observable metrics into a restart_pressure value between 0 and 100.
  • Maintenance scheduling: Schedules maintenance windows based on policy.
  • Action decisions: Determines the next operation based on the pressure score.
  • Load reduction: Supports reducing system load via THROTTLE (throttling) or PAUSE_NEW_WORK (pausing new work).

Installation and Activation

Installing the plugin requires the dsh plugin command. The command forwards arguments to pnpm in the profile directory, completing the plugin addition.

  1. Installation:
    Use the following command to add the plugin to the current profile:
    dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-health-scheduler
  1. Installation notes for Git:
    If installed via a Git URL, pnpm blocks the build process by default. If installation fails, add an allowBuilds entry to <profile directory>/pnpm-workspace.yaml, then rerun the installation command.

  2. Startup and validation:
    After installation, start DSH and verify the configuration:

    # 启动
    dsh --profile web

    # 验证配置(打印组合后的配置树,不启动)
    dsh --profile web --dump-config

Typical Usage

The plugin includes the balanced preset as the default, so it can run without configuration. If behavior adjustment is needed, override the preset via configuration items.

  • Minimal configuration:
    Specify only the preset name:
    {
      "preset": "balanced"
    }

Use Cases and Considerations

  • Responsibility boundary: This plugin does not perform restarts itself. It makes decisions and issues requests; actual restart execution is handled by dsh-restart.
  • Missing data handling: Any dimension with missing telemetry data is marked as unknown, and this state is never considered healthy.
  • Sampling safety: A single point sample does not trigger high-risk actions; all scoring is based on rolling windows.
  • Dependency check: Before use, review the source code and license to ensure compliance with project security requirements.
