Introduction¶
During operation, DeepSeek Harness generates a large number of intermediate files, including code, documents, and media resources. Viewing these files in a desktop app is often limited by window size or network conditions. The dsh-sidebar-frog plugin provides a sidebar for centrally displaying these artifacts and supports popping out the sidebar into a browser tab, making offline preview and editing easier in multi-monitor environments.
What is This¶
This is an unofficial community plugin maintained by zengqingsong. It provides a sidebar for DeepSeek Harness to display files created or edited by agents and pops out the sidebar as a browser tab.
Core Features¶
- Multi-screen display: Supports popping out the sidebar to a second monitor and displaying it in a browser tab.
- Offline preview: Includes a built-in preview library that supports offline preview of code, Markdown, PDF, HTML, images, CSV, Office documents, and audio/video, without requiring network requests.
- Typography and rendering: Provides multiple Markdown skins, themes, and raw HTML rendering.
- Quoting feature: You can select a paragraph in a document and quote it, inserting the locator and specific line content into the editor.
- File management: Includes an artifact ledger (records file changes) and a workspace file tree (supports
@references), with support for the CodeMirror editor and saving viaCtrl+S. - Access control: Reads from and writes to the session workspace only; data routing validates permissions through browser cookies.
Installation and Enabling¶
The plugin does not provide an installation command. Install it through the community directory or source code. After installation, enable the corresponding feature in settings.
Typical Usage¶
- Click a file to open an offline preview at full panel width.
- Click the pop-out button to move the sidebar to a browser tab, then drag it to the second monitor.
- Select a paragraph in the document and use the quoting feature to place the content into the editor.
- Enable “Show System File Tree” in settings to display the system file tree tab.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Use cases: Need to view various file types locally or in an intranet environment; need a second monitor for multitasking; need to record file change history.
- Notes: This is an unofficial community plugin. Review the source code before installing. The plugin has zero runtime dependencies, makes no network requests, collects no telemetry, and supports fully offline work. The target version is DSH 0.1.7-rc.2 web profile.
Short Conclusion¶
This plugin alleviates limitations of DSH in file viewing and collaborative editing through offline preview and multi-screen support. For more details, see the community directory or the GitHub repository.
