In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem, directly interfacing with Wikimedia data often faces noise issues: raw MediaWiki API responses contain many templates, HTML tags, references, and interlanguage links, making them difficult to feed directly to a model. dsh-mcwiki-search is an online tool plugin that queries Minecraft Wiki (Chinese/English) via the MediaWiki API and cleans search results and full page content into clean text.

Core Features

This plugin registers three model tools and includes a Web settings page.

Web Settings Page

In the DSH Web UI, go to “Settings → Minecraft Wiki Search”:

  • Data source status: Detects whether the API connection is working normally.
  • Configuration management: Modify the API endpoint, timeout, number of search results, and full-text/intro limits. Configuration is written directly to settings.yaml, and changes take effect immediately.
  • Testing features: Provides search tests and page conversion tests, allowing you to preview the converted text directly.

Installation

Use the official installation command to complete registration; no manual changes to configuration files are required.

After installation, restart the dsh web service. To verify: look for the “Minecraft Wiki Search” card in the Settings page of the Web UI, or use the mcwiki_search tool directly with the model.

Configuration

The plugin’s configuration is persisted under the dshp-inx-mcwiki-search namespace in settings.yaml. The default configuration does not truncate output (maxChars: 0) to ensure the AI receives complete information.

Notes

  • Data source: Content is based on zh.minecraft.wiki / minecraft.wiki, licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0.
  • No prerequisites: Uses the public MediaWiki API; no API key or quota application is required.
  • File protection: Do not directly edit files under node_modules/@dshp-inx/mcwiki-search/. For source code modifications, we recommend using a local Link method.
  • Default behavior: Unless maxChars is explicitly set or modified in the configuration, the default behavior is full output with no truncation.
